1 Safety instructions

• Please read the product description prior to set-up of the unit. Ensure that the

product is suitable for your application without any restrictions.

• The unit conforms to the relevant regulations and EC directives.

• Improper or non-intended use may lead to malfunctions of the unit or to

unwanted effects in your application.

• That is why installation, electrical connection, set-up, operation and

maintenance of the unit must only be carried out by qualified personnel

authorised by the machine operator.

2 Functions and features

• The passive AS-i bus termination includes two different terminating resistors

(Z1 and Z2) and is used to improve the signal quality for total cable lengths of

≥ 100 m.

• Three-level voltage monitoring and display for AS-Interface and AUX.

• Cable lengths of up to 200 m are possible when the AS-i bus termination is

installed at the point furthest away from the AS-i power supply.

• Max. current consumption < 15 mA.

3 Display

• Green LED lights: AS-i voltage > 26.5 V DC

• Yellow LED lights: AS-i voltage > 18 V DC

4 Installation

►Disconnect power.

►Loosen screw 1 (included) and open the bus

termination.

►Choose a flat mounting surface and fix the bus

termination on it (mounting holes 1).

The mounting screws are not supplied.

►Preferably place the AS-i cable in the upper

profile slot (2) (terminating resistor Z1).

Should the required signal quality not be sufficient

despite a cable length of up to 200 m, place the

AS-i cable in the lower profile slot (3) (terminating

restistor Z2).

►Place the cable correctly in the profile slot.

►The free profile slot can be used for monitoring

the external voltage supply (AUX, black flat

cable).

►If the black flat cable is not used, seal the

profile slot with a flat cable blank (E70399).
