Diffuse reflection sensor

1 Functions and features

The diffuse reflection sensor detects objects and materials without contact and

indicates their presence by a switching signal.

For the range see the type label.

2 Installation

Align the diffuse reflection sensor to the object to be detected and secure it to

a bracket.

3 Electrical connection

Disconnect power.

Connect the unit as follows.

L+

pin 1 = L+ (10...36 V DC)

pin 3 = L-

pin 4 = load (PNP, 200 mA)

(pin 2 = not connected)

4 Settings

LED 4 x 90°

setting potentiometer

Set the setting potentiometer to the minimum range.

Position the object to be detected in the detection zone.

Increase the range until the LED lights (= minimum value; object detected).

Remove the object from the detection zone.

LED goes out.

Increase the range until the LED lights (= maximum value; background

detected).

Set the range to the middle position between minimum value and maximum

value.

5 Operation

Check whether the unit operates correctly.

The LED lights when the switching output is switched.

6 Maintenance

Keep the lens of the sensor free from soiling.

For cleaning do not use any solvents or cleaning agents which could damage

the plastic lenses.
