PB-1000 is MW's next generation smart charger. It has many of the protective features
tha t consu mer s wo uld like t o h ave in a cha rger inclu ding ba ttery misco nne ctio n
(wrong volt age), reverse polarity, battery disconnection or not connected, an d battery
failure ana lysi s. The la test high e ffi cien cy s witc hing topo log y plus microc ont rolle r
power man agemen t ar e utilize d in its desig n. Three t yp es o f cha rgin g curve s ar e
offered for lead acid battery charging, 2 stages fo r quick charg ing , 3 st ages (quick +
float), a nd 8 st ages for optimize d ch arging. Charging sta ge selection can be easily
made by the user th rou gh th e se lection switch on the fron t pa nel.
Depending on battery brand and type (lead acid, gel, lithium iron, and lithium manganese);
the ba ttery ma y require spe cia l charging cu rves and ad justm ent t o t he protectiv e
functions which differs from the standard settings. The charging curves and protective
functions can be customized by reprogramming its firmware. Basically, you can change
the voltage/current settings of each individual stage plus adjust or cancel the prot ective
fun ctions. P lea se note, the facto ry charging curve is for charging lead-acid battery.
