Socket tester
User Guide
The Megger MST210 Socket Tester is designed to provide quick and easy indication of wiring errors which may be
present at a socket outlet. Using simple green and red LED’s, correct wiring can be verified with no need to isolate the
supply or disassemble the socket.
Simply plug the tester into the socket. If the wiring is correct, two green LED’s will illuminate. If either green LED does
not light or the red LED comes on, there is a wiring fault. By referring to the table below, the combination of LED’s
shown will indicate the wiring fault present. Technical advice may be obtained from Megger Product Support on +44

Safety Warnings
NOTES: The MST210 cannot identify a Neutral to Earth
reversal. The Megger MST210 Socket Tester does not
eliminate the need for full electrical test of circuits as
specified by BS7671, and is supplementary to it.
The Megger MST210 Socket Tester is intended for initial
diagnosis of simple wiring faults, and any problem found
or suspected must be referred to a suitably qualified
electrician for repair.
