TheUMT70Sguaranteesparticularlycleanandcolourlesssound

reproduction.Itiswellsuitedforinstrumentalandvocalsoloistsinradioand

television broadcasting and any other kind of accurate production.

Thepressuregradienttransducerisadualcapacitordesignthatusesa

singlebrassbackplateandtwolarge-diametergold-platedplastic

diaphragms.Varyingthepolarizationvoltageappliedtothediaphragms

resultsinthreedirectionalcharacteristics:omni,cardioidandfigure8.Aring

at the bottom of the microphone's head grille is used to select the pattern.

Theomni-directionalpatternshowsaslight2dBriseinthevicinityof

10,5kHzwhilethebassresponseisperfectlyflat.Thecardioidandfigure8

patternsexhibitasmoothpresenceboostrisingtoabout4dBinthe7kHz

range.Thisresponse,coupledwithaslightroll-offatlowfrequencies,is

A10dBattenuatorhasbeeninstalledtoreducethesensitivityofthemicro-

phonewhenplacednearveryloudsoundsources.Asensitivityreductionfor

lowfrequenciescanbeutilizedtosuppresstheproximityeffectwhenclose-

miking with the cardioid or figure 8 patterns.

microphone cable, e.g. C 70.

ing according to the international standards DIN 45596 and IEC 268-15.
