IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse cord, plugs, or
the appliance in water or other liquid.
4. Children cannot recognize the dangers involved in the incorrect use
of electrical appliances. Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
5. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Do not allow children to play
with the appliance.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the
appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after
the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.
Return appliance to Salton for examination, repair or adjustment.

8. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by Salton
may cause hazards.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
11. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
12. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance
containing hot liquids.
13. Prior to connecting or disconnecting plug from wall outlet, turn any
control to 'Off'.

14. This appliance is for Household Use Only. Do not use appliance
for other than its intended use.
15. Do not leave unit unattended while in use.
16. DO NOT use an external timer.
17. DO NOT cover the Cooktop with aluminum foil, paper towels or
any other material.
18. DO NOT cook on a broken or cracked Cooktop as spills or liquid
may penetrate the broken or cracked Cooktop and create a risk of
electric shock. Switch off the appliance immediately.
IMPORTANT:
• When cleaning with a damp sponge or cloth ensure that water does
not enter the air vents located on the side and bottom of the appliance.
• Never clean the appliance unless it is cool, some cleaners can produce
toxic fumes if applied to a hot surface.

HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug
(2 blades and 1 pin). If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical out-
let contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way or
use an adaptor.
HOW TO USE YOUR SALTON PORTABLE CERAMIC
INFRARED COOKTOP
Any flat-bottomed pot or container that can be used on a conventional
electric stove element can also be used on the Salton Portable Ceramic
Infrared Cooktop. For maximum heat transfer, cookware that has a
perfectly flat bottom is recommended.
IMPORTANT: Only stove-top cookware that is heat resistant and
can be used on an conventional electric stove element should be
used on the Salton Portable Ceramic Infrared Cooktop.
