Thisinstructionmanualcontainsimportantinformationforthesafeoperation
ofequipmentsuppliedbySchaudt.Makesureyoureadandfollowthesafety
instructionsprovided.
Theinstructionmanualshouldalwaysbekeptinthevehicle.Allsafetyinfor-
mationmustbepassedontootherusers.
1.2Operation
TheWA1208boosterincreasesthechargingvoltageavailableinthecara-
vantoupto14.4V,meaningthecaravanbatteryundergoesperfectcharging
whenmoving.Itdoesnothaveanycontrols.

Forthefunctionalitydescribedbelow,itisarequirementthatthe13-pin
connectorplugonthetowingvehicleisassignedinaccordancewithEN
1648-1.AlsorefertothecircuitdiagraminSection2.2.
Itworksasfollows:
³Hookupthecaravantothetowingvehicleandplugthecaravanconnec-
torintothevehicle.
³Switchontheignitionandstarttheengine.

The13-pinconnectorplugonthecaravanisautomaticallydeadifitis
pulledoutofthesocketonthetowingvehicle.Thispreventsthecaravan
batteryfromdischargingasaresultofleakagecurrents.

Aslongastheignitiononthetowingvehicleisswitchedon,theboosteris
activeandthecaravanbatteryisthereforecharged.Thisdischargestheto-
wingvehiclebattery.
Thisiswhy,whenthevehicleisstationaryandthecaravanispluggedin,the
ignitionmaynotstayonforalongperiodoftimewithouttheenginerunning.
