NOTE:

Not all devices with HDMI input/output are HDMI CEC compatible. For

information about CEC compatibility, refer to the instruction manual of the

device. Refer to “HDMI connection (ARC supported)” section of this manual for

information relating to connecting an HDMI (ARC) enabled device.

Connecting an external audio device

You can connect audio systems such as AV receivers or sound bars to

the television. Select aconnection method below according to the

specications of the audio system you want to connect.

ū Connecting with an HDMI cable.

ū Connecting with adigital optical cable.

ū Connecting with an audio cable

HDMI Connection (ARC/eARC)

Connecting the television and audio system with an HDMI cable. This is the

recommended method of connecting an external audio device.

Use an HDMI cable to link the HDMI input terminal on the television

marked with “eARC” to the HDMI input on the external audio device

bearing the “ARC” or “eARC” text.

NOTE:

To ensure proper operation of the eARC function, use an HDMI cable labeled

“HDMI High Speed with Ethernet” or better.

For this connection to work, HDMI CEC must be enabled on the TV. To do

this, press (home) button, then select > [Settings] [Channels & Inputs]

> , scroll down and activate .[Inputs] [HDMI control]

[Additional settings for HDMI eARC connection]

HDMI eARC must be activated in the menu. To activate it, press the

(home) button, then select > and make sure that [Settings] [Sound]

[eARC] is set to [Auto].

Control of volume can be achieved via the television remote control (CEC

must be turned on).

When ARC/eARC is working, the sound from the television speakers will

be muted.

If your connected audio system is not producing sound, it is possible

that it does not support the required codecs. In such cases, you can try

allowing the TV to decode the sound. Press the (quick settings) button

and select > > > [Settings] [Display & Sound] [Audio output] [Digital

Output] [PCM] > .

[Dierences between ARC and eARC explained]

If your external audio system only supports the HDMI ARC function, the

TV will only be able to transmit compressed audio with a maximum of 5.1

channels.

If your external audio system supports the HDMI eARC function, the TV will

be able to transmit uncompressed audio with a maximum of 7.1 channels.

Transmission of object sound, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, is also

supported.

Digital Audio (Optical)

Connecting your television and audio system with adigital optical cable.

Connect to the audio system digital optical input terminal.

NOTE:

When using the digital optical output for audio connection, it is important to

disable the TV’s internal speakers to avoid any echo eects. To do this, press

(quick settings) button and select > > [Settings] [Display & Sound]

[Sound] [Speakers] > > [O]. This will disable the TV’s internal speakers.

If your connected audio system is not producing sound, it is possible that it

does not support the required codecs. In such cases, you can try allowing the

TV to decode the sound. Press the (quick settings) button and select [Set-

tings] [Display & Sound] [Audio output] [Digital Output] [PCM] > > > > .

Connect to the audio system’saudio input terminal.

1. Select your preferred on-screen display language. This will set

the language in which the menus and associated information are

displayed. If you wish to change it later, you can do so in the [System]

menu.

2. Enter the country of use for the TV. This will determine the

functionality of the television, such as specic operator settings for

tuning of TV channels.

3. [Set up Google TV]Select option to use TV with all its smart features.

If you choose , setup will nish faster and TV can [Set up basic TV]

be used without Google account, however internet connection and

thus smart features will be unavailable. TV also won’t get important

security updates.

4. If your TV is not connected via an Ethernet cable, it will request that

a Wi-Fi network is selected and logged into. Choose your network

and then follow the on-screen display to enter your password. When

correctly entered, the TV will connect to your network and connect to

the internet if this is available.

5. On this screen, you can review the detailed terms and conditions for

using connected services. By selecting , you agree to these [Accept]

terms and can proceed with the setup. Choosing will result in [Skip]

certain services not being available to you.

6. Now you can sign in using your Google account. If you don’t have

a Google account yet, you can set one up at this point. During this

stage, you will provide information for one Google account. Additional

accounts for your family members can be added later through the

[Prole] menu.

7. Please carefully review the information provided on this screen

regarding sharing your TV’s location with apps and details about

diagnostics. Your understanding of this information will help you make

informed decisions when selecting options on the next screen.

8. Choose your preferred settings on this screen and proceed to the next

step by selecting the [Accept].

9. Here, you have the opportunity to subscribe to the Google TV

newsletter.

10. [Continue]Select to continue to the next screen.

11. [Allow]This screen is associated with Google Assistant. Choose to

enable content searching within apps using voice commands. For

instance, you can request to play a specic show from a streaming

app. If you prefer not to use voice search, select .[No thanks]

12. Choose the apps that will be automatically downloaded and installed

once the setup is completed. Remember, this is just a part of the initial

setup; you can always search for and install additional apps from the

Home screen later on.

13. Information about Network privacy policy.

14. When this screen appears, press the [OK] button on the remote

control to input a four-digit PIN code. You will be asked to conrm

the PIN before progressing to the next step. This PIN is used when

accessing various functions on the TV and during the lock or parental

control usage.

15. If you've chosen a country with multiple time zones, you will now be

prompted to select your specic time zone.

16. Set up your television to be in Home or Store mode. Home mode is

the default setting for normal use. This can be changed later in the

Settings menu if necessary.

17. Choose one of the available energy options:

[Saving mode]: Reduces power consumption when the TV is in standby

mode, but it is not possible to wake up the TV via network by applications.

[Chromecast built-in]: Makes the TV visible to Google Cast apps even

when it is in standby mode. When you start casting media from your

mobile device, the TV will wake up.

[Wake on network only]: You can wake up the TV via the network by

additional apps, even those that do not support Google Cast.

18. If you have an antenna cable connected to one of the TV’s tuners,

choose one of the applicable options and initiate the tuning process.

While your TV is tuning, the display will provide updates on the

progress and indicate the number of digital channels being received.

If the tuning process is completed or if you do not have an antenna

connected, select the option.[Next Step]

When you see this screen, you are ready to use your Google TV. Press [OK]

and your TV will start at the Home screen.
