Overview / Installation
Overview
The HZC-PSF14 PsF application software adds the
following functions to a Sony HDC1400R/1450R-series
camera when installed on the camera.
1080-29.97PsF format conformity
HZC-PSF14 enables the HDC1400R/1450R-series
camera to support 1080-29.97PsF format. When using a
camera with an SY-Type operation panel, you can select
this format in addition to 1080-59.94i and 720-59.94P
formats.

HDC1400R (JN3), HDC1400R (JN4), HDC1450R
(UC7)
1080-25PsF format conformity
HZC-PSF14 enables the HDC1400R/1450R-series
camera to support 1080-25PsF format. When using a
camera with a European-Type operation panel, you can
select this format in addition to 1080-50i and 720-50P
formats.
Applicable models
HDC1400R (CED), HDC1400R (E33), HDC1450R
(CED)
When using HZC-PSF14, check that the software of the
camera to be used in combination is Version 2.02 or
higher.
For information on shapes of operation panel, refer to the
OPERATION MANUAL of the camera.
Installation

Create a key file.
Create a text file that includes the software
installation key and change the filename to
“hdc1000.key.”
Note that the extension is “.key.”
Key file format
• You can describe multiple installation keys in a
single key file (hdc1000.key). Invalid keys are
ignored in the installation process.
• Describe only one installation key on a single line.
• Any description between “#” or “;” and the line
break is read as a comment.
Example of hdc1000.key

Copy the key file.
Create \MSSONY\PRO\CAMERA\HDC1000 folder
on a “Memory Stick” and copy “hdc1000.key” to that
folder.
For information on usable types of “Memory Stick,”
refer to the OPERATION MANUAL of the camera.

Install the key file.
Insert the “Memory Stick” into the Memory Stick slot
of the camera, and install the key file on the camera
using the <OPTION KEY> page of the
MAINTENANCE menu.
For details on menu operations, refer to the
OPERATION MANUAL of the camera.

When the key file is installed on the camera, the item
“OPTION: PsF ADDITION” appears on the
<OPTION KEY> page.

Confirm the result of installation.
Restart the camera and check the OPTION display on
the <SERIAL NO.> page of the DIAGNOSIS menu.
When the installation is successfully completed, the
OPTION column indicates the following:

In addition to 1080-59.94i and 720-59.94P formats, you
can use 1080-29.97PsF format. To select a format, use the
MSU when the camera is connected to the CCU (Camera
Control Unit), or use the VF menu when the camera is
used on a stand-alone basis.
To select 1080-29.97PsF format
When the camera is connected to the CCU
Use the Multi Format Menu page of the MSU to select
“Camera Transmit,” then select “1080/29.97PsF.”
When the camera is used on a stand-
alone basis
Use the <OUTPUT FORMAT> page of the
MAINTENANCE menu to select “ACTIVE LINE:
1080,” then select “29.97PsF.”
