POECOAX Ethernet and Power Extender Over Coax
Thank you for your choice of Speco Technologies’ camera accessory. This unit is designed and manufactured to provide an POECOAX
economical solution for retrofit or long run installations. The sturdy construction ensures a long and versatile life.
DESCRIPTION
The consists of a transmitting IPC (IP Camera) unit and receiving SV (Server) unit, which is usable in the supplied pairs. These units POECOAX
are designed to utilize coaxial or similar cable to transfer Ethernet signals and power over a much longer distance than Cat5 cable can alone.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Please turn off power to the units and sources. Installing the POECOAX while power is live may damage the units.
2) Use an RJ45 network cable to connect a PoE camera with an IPC unit and Ethernet switch with the SV unit.
3) If you are not using a PoE Switch, you will need to utilize one 48-57V DC adapter (not included) which will provide power all the
way through to the camera.
4) Use an RJ45 network cable to connect your recording device (NVR, Hybrid DVR, etc.) with the SV’s RJ45 port.
5) Use Coaxial cable to connect the transmission ports between the SV and IPC units.
6) Confirm all cables are connected securely and properly and power on all units.
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Maximum transmission distance: 1600’ (500m) via RG59 cable or 1300’ (400m) via Cat5 cable. Transmission distance decreases
with higher resolutions and smaller gauge wire.
