Modify Regional Options
Go to to congure the following regional options. For more detailed Control Panel > Regional Options

Time
Click the tab to set up the system time settings of the Synology NAS. You can check the current time, Time
manually set the server's date and time, or automatically set the time using a network time server.
Language
Click the tab to set the language for Synology DiskStation Manager, notications, and specify the Language
codepage for Unicode lename conversion.
: Choose your preferred display language, or have it the same as your default browser Display Language
setting.

Computers without Unicode support
Applications that convert non-Unicode strings to Unicode, such as FTP service, UPnP support, music
metadata indexing
NTP Service
Click the tab to have your Synology NAS serve as a network time server to synchronize time NTP Service
between dierent network devices and the Synology NAS over network.
Note: The NTP service is required for Surveillance Station and Synology High Availability. Therefore, if you have
Surveillance Station installed and run on your Synology NAS, the service cannot be disabled while the package is
running.
