producelightingeffectsformobiledevices.Ahigh-

efficiencychargepumpenablesLEDdrivingoverfull

Li-Ionbatteryvoltagerange.Thedeviceisequipped

withaninternalprogrammemory,whichallows

operationwithoutprocessorcontrol.

TheLP55231hasanI

C-compatiblecontrolinterface

withfourpin-selectableaddresses.TheINTpincan

beusedtonotifyprocessorwhenalightingsequence

hasended(interruptfunction).Also,thedevicehasa

triggerinputinterface,whichallowssynchronization,

forexample,betweenmultipleLP55231devices.

Excellentefficiencyismaintainedoverawide

operatingrangebyautonomouslyselectingthebest

chargepumpgainbasedonLEDforwardvoltage

requirements.Thedeviceisabletoautomatically

enterpower-savemodewhenLEDoutputsarenot

active,thusloweringidlecurrentconsumptiondown

to10µA(typical).Onlyfoursmallandlow-cost

ceramiccapacitorsarerequired.
