1. What is the maximum tire size (with and without fenders, and to what standard)?
Typically 27.5x4.5” or 26x5.0”
Due to the wide variety of tires available, and variations in manufacturing tolerances, we recommend
checking any aftermarket set up for proper ISO tire clearance, which is 6mm between the tire and frame
at the maximum listed tire pressure.
2. Why did we get a Farley 5 or Farley 7 with a narrower tire on the back?
The production Gnarwhal 27.5x4.5” tires came within our tolerance, but overall, larger than expected.
Due to production variation, some Gnarwhal tires do not pass ISO tire clearance requirements on the
15.5 and 17.5 frame sizes (6mm between tire and frame at maximum listed tire pressure). To satisfy
consumer-protection legal requirements, we are shipping these sizes with smaller 27.5x3.8” Gnarwhal
rear tires because their smaller tread passes ISO tire clearance requirements and still allows for stud
installation.
3. Is it compatible with other wheel/tire sizes?
It is possible to run 29x3.0 wheels/tires, though this requires a custom wheel with a 197mm rear hub
width.
4. What is the brake mount? What is the max rotor size?
Front and rear are post mount for 160mm rotors. Max rotor size is 210mm front, 180mm rear.
5. What type of bottom bracket does it use?
121mm Press Fit
6. Is it compatible with cranks with 30mm spindles?
Yes, with the correct bottom bracket.
7. What is the maximum chainring size?
Maximum is 32 teeth.
8. Are these bikes tubeless compatible? What additional parts are required?

9. Does it have any accessory mounts (kickstand, racks, fenders, lights)?
Carbon Farley models do not have accessory mounts, and are not compatible with rear cargo racks.
Alloy Farley models do have rear rack mounts that are compatible with racks from Old Man Mountain
and Topeak.
10. What is the maximum fork axle- -crown and/or travel? to
Max ATC for alloy frames is 513mm, commonly 100mm travel. This includes the new 80mm Manitou
Mastodon EXT.
Carbon Farley is only compatible with the 80mm or 100mm RockShox Bluto. Other forks will either
interfere with the downtube or exceed the maximum approved axle- -crown length. to
11. Does it have ISCG mounts?
It does not.
12. Is it compatible with 2x drivetrains?
Yes. Farley frames have a mount for low-direct mount front derailleurs.
