These are Class A products. In a domestic environment these
products may cause ra dio interference in which case the user
may be required to take adequate measures.
The electromagnetic emissions of the devices are below the
standardized limit values for interferences. However we cannot
guarantee a complete p rotection ag ainst disturbance of radio
an d TV reception, if the devices are appli ed in business- and
living areas in a distance of less than 33 ft from the receivi ng
aerial.
Installation and maintenance should be ca rried out by EMC-
skilled personnel.
Special hints concerning the cabling
USB-, PS/ 2-, parallel and drawer cables may not exceed
10 ft. This res triction does not apply to RS232- and
network cables.
You shoul d always u se shielded cables. Unsh ield ed
cables must have a ferrite core mounted as close to the
Vectron POS unit as possib le.

When operating your Vectron POS system ple ase follow th ese
instructions:
Only by mean s of proper positio ning and maintenance, as well
as proprietary operation according to the referen ce instru c-
tions, the s afety and health of in dividuals and of animals and
proper ty, will not be endangered .
Improper installation, maintenance, or op eration m ay result in
injury to the user and damage to the device s.
Maintenance a nd repair of the Vectron P OS system is to be
carried out only by tra ined personnel, certif ied by the manufac-
turer.
The Vectron POS system has b een manufactured to the highest
possible standards . However, we cannot guarantee that the de-
livered compo nents, their constituent par ts and the do cumen-
tation are, and will remain, free of fau lts.
The manufacturer does not a ccept liability i n case of improper
installation and m aintenance and im proper operation of the
Vectron POS system.

Inst ruc t ions for use5.
Please follow these instructions:
Only operate the POS system with the dealer installed periphe-
rals.
Do not insert any forei gn objec ts into any openings on the
devices.
The power supply Vectron PS10 must be plugg ed into a proper-
ly grounded outlet.
The POS system may not be exposed to direc t sunlight. Ensure
there is suffic ient airflow around the device to allow for ade-
quate cooling.
Protect the POS system from dust and humidity.
Protect the POS system from imp roper voltages.
Clean only with a damp cloth using a mild cleanser.
Before opening the housin g of the Vec tron PO S system, unplug
it from the outlet.
In case of service please contact your Vectron dealer. When
sending th e device for repair always use the original packing.
For damages d ue to imp roper packing the manufac turer does
not accept liability.

In this chapter you get numerous technical information on the
Vectron POS Vario. You are also informed on accessories available
for this POS system. For additional hardware features and equip-
ment options please see chapter 10.
The Vectron POS Vario distinguishes itself by a number of techni-
cal features and functions. The 64-bit-technology and the battery
buffered RAM accelerate data access, guarantee fast processing
and avoid data loss in case of a power failure. In addition, the Vec-
tron POS Vario has a small, compact housing, which only requires
a small footprint.

The Vectron POS Vario is available with different equip-
ment. Please check the correct delivery on receipt. In case
of incorrect delivery please contact your Vectron dealer.
Your dealer will supply the system and install it. You may
then start working immediately.
