1. Introduction

Thank you for buying the VTBAL2! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If the

device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer.

2. Use

a. Preparation

• Open the battery compartment at the back of your scales and insert both batteries. Mind the polarity. Make

sure the cover is placed on the scales.

b. Calibration

• Remove the lid and press the ON / TARE button. The will display “0.0” and “g” meaning the VTBAL2

weighing unit is grams. If not, press the CAL / MODE button until it does.

• Hold the CAL / MODE button pressed for 3 seconds until “CAL 0” flashes onto the display.

• Put one of the standard calibration weights (20g, 40g or 100g) onto the weighing platform.

• Wait a couple of seconds until “CAL F” is displayed. The scales are now calibrated and ready for use. “CAL

E” is displayed when an error has occurred. In that case, repeat steps 2 to 4.

c. Other Functions

• Press the CAL / MODE button to choose the weighing unit: g (grams), oz (ounces), dwt (pennyweight), ozt

(troy ounces), grain and Ct (carats).

• “LO- -”: low battery indication. Replace the batteries with of the same type and specifications.

• “O- -Ld”: weight overload.
