Audison offers a harness that allows to bypass the ASD module “Active Sound Design”, which is present in
many 2015-2021 BMW and MINI models and reproduces the engine sound in the audio system.
NOTE: The BMWs equipped with iDrive7 generate the ASD engine note internally and it must be coded off to disable it.
In 2015-2021 BMW and MINI the ASD module is next to the OEM amplifier in amplified systems (ASD can
be present in some deck-power systems).
The ASD Bypass harness plugs in between the ASD module and the car harness, and routes the audio path
around the ASD module. This keeps the ASD module powered and reporting on the CAN network, thus
allowing any software installation (missing modules can prevent a correct software installation).
In case the ASD Bypass connector has a different shape and it doesn’t plug into vehicle harnesses, it can be
simply modied for successful installation by removing the external housings as shown below.
Note: Test for proper tment and operation before reassembly! Do not bend pins!
VEHICLE HARNESS > ASD BYPASS:
- Disassemble the male connector OEM (fig.1, 2 and 3).
- Place the ASD Bypass white connector as shown in
fig.4, insert the connector “A” (fig.3) in the top side
and the connettor “B” (fig.5 e 6) in the bottom side.
- Use a clamp to avoid unplug of A and B
connectors (fig.7).
ASD BYPASS > VEHICLE HARNESS:
- Disassemble the male connector of the ASD Bypass
(g.1, 2 and 3).
- Locate the OEM amplier with nned side upwards,
insert the connector “B” in the top side and the
connector “A” in the bottom side (g.8).

Audison propone un cablaggio che permette di bypassare il modulo ASD “Active Sound Design” presente in
molti modelli BMW e MINI dal 2015 in poi, che introduce il sound del motore nel sistema audio.
NOTA: Le BMW con iDrive7 generano l’ASD internamente e pertanto deve essere decodicato per disabilitarlo.
Nelle BMW e MINI dal 2015 al 2021 il mo
dulo è posto vicino all’amplicatore OEM nel caso di sistemi
amplicati (l’ASD può essere presente anche in sistemi non amplicati).
L’ ASD Bypass si inserisce tra il modulo ASD e il cablaggio dell’auto, bypassando i segnali del modulo. Ciò
mantiene il modulo acceso e connesso alla rete CAN, permettendo ogni installazione software BMW
necessaria (moduli mancanti possono impedire una corretta installazione del software).
Nel caso in cui il connettore dell’ASD Bypass abbia una forma differente che non permetta di inserirsi
correttamente, l’accessorio può essere facilmente modificato per una corretta installazione rimuovendo
l’alloggiamento esterno come mostrato sotto.
Nota: Testare l’inserimento ed il funzionamento prima di riassemblarlo! Non piegare i pin!
CABLAGGIO VEICOLO > ASD BYPASS:
- Disassemblare il connettore maschio OEM (fig.1, 2 e 3).
- Posizionare il connettore BIANCO dell’ASD Bypass come
mostrato in fig.4, inserire nella parte superiore il
connettore “A” (fig.3) e in quella inferiore il connettore
“B” (fig.5 e 6).
- UItilizzare una fascetta per evitare
che i connettori A e B
si sfilino (fig.7).
ASD BYPASS > MODULO ASD IN AUTO:
- Disassemblare il connettore maschio dell’ASD Bypass
(g.1, 2 e 3).
- Posizionare l’amplicatore OEM con le alette di
raffreddamento verso l’alto ed inserire il connettore “B”
nella parte superiore e in quella inferiore il connettore
“A” (g.8).
