1. Safety
Warning: When using this machine, theincluded safety instructions should always be followed to avoid risk of
fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Read theentire instruction manual before using themachine and keep it
for future reference. Always pull theplug out of thewall socket before servicing and adjusting themachine.
1.1 General safety instructions for your safety and the safety of others
1. Keep theworking area tidy.
Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
2. Do not use themachine in dangerous environments.
Themachine should not be used on moist or wet surfaces or in rain. Make sure that thework area is well lit.
When working in dusty atmospheres, make sure that theair is adequately circulated. Do not operate electric
machinery in explosive atmospheres, such as in thepresence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
3. Reduce therisk of electric shocks.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators
when using electric machinery.
4. Keep children and bystanders away.
Keep children and visitors at asafe distance from electric machinery and electric cables in theworkplace.
5. Store electric machinery out of thereach of children.
When not in use, electric machinery/tools should be stored locked away in asafe place, away from children.
6. Do not force themachine.
Thecorrect feed rate makes thework better and safer.
7. Use thecorrect tool for thejob.
Do not force atool to perform atask that it was not designed for.
8. Wear suitable attire.
Do not wear any loose-fitting clothing, gloves, necklaces, bracelets or other jewellery that can get caught in
moving parts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wear ahairnet or similar if you have long hair.
9. Always use safety glasses.
Normal glasses are not tough enough to withstand impacts. Use adust mask or dust filter when working in
dusty environments.
10. Connect dust extraction equipment.
If themachine is equipped with dust extraction equipment, ensure that it is connected and used properly.
Make sure to empty thedust bag regularly.
11. Do not abuse themains lead.
Do not carry themachine by its mains lead. Do not yank themains lead to turn thepower off, pull theplug
out instead. Make sure that themains lead does not come into contact with heat, oil, or sharp edges.
12. Secure theworkpiece firmly.
Where possible, use clamps or avice. You can then operate themachine using two hands. This is much
safer than holding theworkpiece in one hand.
13. Do not overreach.
Make sure that you stand steady and balanced all times.
14. Look after your tools.
Keep blades sharp and clean for thebest and safest performance. Follow themanual’s recommendations
regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories. Inspect themains lead regularly. If it is damaged it
should be replaced by aqualified service technician. Inspect all leads and cables regularly to check for any
damage. Make sure that themachine’s handles and controls are clean, dry and free from oil, grease etc.
