dieses Anleitungshandbuch sorgfälg und heben Sie es an einem sicheren Ort für
späteren Gebrauch auf.
WARNHINWEISE
* Die Installaon eines Kohlenmonoxidmelder sollte nicht als Ersatz für eine
sorgfälge Installaon, Gebrauch und Wartung von brennstoffnutzenden Geräten,
mit inbegriffen ausreichender Belüung und Schadstoffableitung verwendet
werden.
* Risiko eines elektrischen Schocks besteht, wenn Sie das Gerät manipulieren.
* Die folgenden Substanzen können den Melder beeinflussen und ihn
fälschlicherweise auslösen: Methan, Propan, Isobutan, Isopropanol, Ethylen,
Benzol, Toluol, Ethylacetat, Schwefelwasserstoff, Schwefeldioxide, alkoholische
Produkte, Farben, Verdünner, Lösungsmiel, Klebstoffe, Haarsprays, Rasierwasser,
Parfums und verschiedene Reinigungsmiel.
* Um Verletzungen zu vermeiden, befesgen Sie dieses Gerät sicher an der
Decke/Wand. Beachten Sie dafür bie dieses Anleitungshandbuch.
* Das Gerät sollte von einer kompetenten Person angebracht werden.
* Baerien sollten nicht exzessiver Hitze ausgesetzt sein (z.B.: Sonnenlicht, Feuer)

Ihren Rauch- & Kohlenmonoxidmelder akvieren
Der Detektor enthält eine umschlossene Baerie mit einer Lebensdauer von 10
Jahren, die automasch akviert wird, wenn der Melder zum ersten Mal befesgt
wird. Nach der Akvaon blinken alle LED Lampen und ein Piepen ertönt. Während
den nächsten 40 Sekunden blinkt die grüne LED Lampe jede 2 Sekunden um
anzugeben, dass sich das Gerät im Vorbereitungsmodus befindet. Danach blinkt die
grüne LED jede 40 Sekunden um anzugeben, dass das Gerät korrekt funkoniert.
Wo installieren Sie Ihren Detektor
Potenzielle Kohlenmonoxid quellen sind: Holzöfen, Gas Boiler und Feuer, Gasherd, Öl
und Kohle verbrennende Geräte, tragbare Gaskocher, Grill etc.
In welchem Raum soll ein Detektor installiert werden?
Idealerweise sollte ein Rauchwarn- und Kohlenmonoxidmelder installiert werden:
* In jedem Schlafzimmer (insbesondere Kinderzimmer).
* In Fluchträume und Flure.
* In jedem Raum, in dem sich ein brennstoetriebenes Gerät befindet.
* In jedem Raum, in dem nicht viel Zeit verbracht wird und der Signalton anderer
Geräte möglicherweise nicht gehört wird.
* Wenn die Anzahl der verfügbaren Geräte begrenzt ist, wählen Sie den Raum aus
wo:
- Sich ein Gerät ohne Abzug oder ein geöffnetes Gerät befindet.
- Wo Sie die meiste Zeit verbringen.
* Im Falle einer Ein-Zimmer-Wohnung: Installieren Sie das Gerät so weit wie möglich
von den Kochgeräten und in der Nähe des Schlaereichs auf.
* Wenn das Gerät in einem Raum installiert wird, der normalerweise nicht genutzt
wird (z.B. ein Heizungsraum), dann sollte das Gerät so posioniert werden damit
der Alarm leichter zu hören ist.
Wo im Raum sollte ein Detektor installiert werden?
* In Räumen mit einem brennstoffnutzenden Gerät:
- Zwischen 1m und 3m enernt von der potenellen Quelle von Kohlenmonoxid.
- Wenn der Raum unterteilt ist: Befesgen Sie den Melder im gleichen Teil des
Raumes als die potenzielle Quelle von Kohlenmonoxid.
* In Räumen ohne ein brennstoffnutzendes Gerät (so wie Schlafzimmer/Flur):
- In der Nähe der Atemzonen der Bewohner.
* Wenn an der Wand monert:
- Nahe zur Decke, aber mindestens 150mm von der Decke enernt.
- In einer Höhe größer als die Höhe einer Tür oder eines Fensters.
* Wenn an der Decke monert:
- Mindestens 50 cm von Wand oder Objekten enernt.
Wo soll man den Melder nicht anbringen?
* An einer umschlossenen Stelle oder an einer Stelle, an der der Lustrom behindert
werden kann (Schrank/hinter dem Vorhang oder Möbel).
* Direkt über einem Wasch-becken.
* Neben Tür, Fenster, Belüungsöffnung.
* Neben einer Abzugshaube.
* In Bereichen, in denen die Temperatur < 0°C oder > 40°C beträgt.
* In Bereichen, in denen Schmutz / Staub den Sensor blockieren können.
* Bereiche mit hoher Lufeuchgkeit wie Badezimmer oder in der Nähe von Geräten
wie Geschirrspülern und Waschmaschinen.
* In unmielbarer Nähe des Kochgeräts.
* An einem Ort, an dem die LED-Anzeige möglicherweise nicht mehr sichtbar ist.
Gerät moneren
* Enernen Sie die Montageplae vom Gerät.
* Platzieren Sie die Montageplae am gewünschten Installaonsort und markieren
Sie, wo die Löcher gebohrt werden sollen.
* Bohren Sie zwei Löcher mit einem Durchmesser von 5 Millimetern.
* Schieben Sie die Kunststoffstopfen in die Löcher.
* Setzen Sie die Schrauben in die Montageplae ein und ziehen Sie sie fest
in die Stecker.
* Setzen Sie das Gerät auf die Montagehalterung und sichern Sie es durch Drehen im
Uhrzeigersinn.
* Wenn ddas Gerät richg festgezogen ist, ertönt ein Signalton.
* Testen Sie die korrekte Funkon Ihres Geräts, indem Sie die Test-Taste drücken.
Wenn kein Ton erzeugt wird, funkoniert das Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß und
sollte nicht verwendet werden!
Was zu tun, wenn Kohlenmonoxid nachgewiesen wird?
Wenn das Gerät einen Kohlenmonoxid-Alarm auslöst, nehmen Sie bie die folgenden
Maßnahmen:
* Bleiben Sie ruhig und öffnen Sie alle Türen und Fenster. Hören Sie auf
Brennstoffgeräten zu verwenden und schalten Sie diese aus.
* Wenn der Alarm weiterhin besteht, verlassen Sie das Gebäude. Lassen Sie alle
Türen und Fenster offen und betreten Sie das Gebäude nicht, bevor der Alarm
aufgehört hat.
* Holen Sie sich medizinische Hilfe für jeden, der die Auswirkungen einer
Kohlenmonoxidvergiung lindert.
* Wenden Sie sich an die entsprechende Wartungsagentur. Verwenden Sie keine
brennenden Geräte, bis sie von einer sachkundigen Person überprü werden.
Alarmstummschaltung
Wenn das Gerät Rauch oder CO erkannt hat und in den Alarmmodus wechselt, können
Sie das akussche Signal für mindestens 5 Minuten und maximal 15 Minuten
stummschalten, indem Sie die Test-Taste drücken. Danach setzt sich das Gerät
automasch zurück und kehrt in den normalen Betriebsmodus zurück. Befinden sich
in der Lu noch Verbrennungsparkel oder ist die Konzentraon an CO noch> 45 ppm,
schaltet das Gerät wieder in den Alarmmodus.
WARNUNG: Bevor Sie die Alarmstummschaltung verwenden, ermieln Sie immer die
Ursache des Alarms und stellen Sie sicher, dass die Umstände sicher sind.
Wartung
* Test
Testen Sie das Gerät monatlich, indem Sie die Test-Taste drücken.
Wenn das Gerät ordnungsgemäß funkoniert, blinkt die rote LED-Anzeige 4 Mal
und es ertönt gleichzeig ein Signalton. Wenn Sie nach dem Test keinen Signalton
hören oder kein Licht sehen, funkoniert das Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß und
sollte so bald wie möglich ausgetauscht werden!
* Baerie
Wenn der Baerie fast leer ist, zeigt das Gerät dies ca. 30 Tage lang mit einem
wiederholten Signalton und LED Signal an. Ein Austausch des Gerätes muss
spätestens dann erfolgen, wenn das Gerät die Baeriestörungsmeldung abgibt. Der
akussche Warnhinweis bei schwacher Baerie kann durch einmaliges Drücken der
Prüaste 9 Stunden lang stummgeschaltet werden. Das Gerät funkoniert
immer noch und kann in diesem Modus Rauch und Kohlenmonoxid Erkennen.
* Reinigung
Einmal im Monat: Enernen Sie das Gerät von der Montageplae und wischen Sie
es mit einer weichen Bürste oder einem weichen Tuch ab. Testen Sie das Gerät
nach der Reinigung immer durch Drücken der Test-Taste.
* Fehlerwarnung
Wenn dieses Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß funkoniert, wird der Fehlerwarnmodus
akviert. Reinigen Sie das Gerät (siehe Abschni Lernen) oder ersetzen Sie es!
Deakvieren des Gerätes
WARNUNG: Die Deakvierung des Alarms ist dauerha und kann nicht rückgängig
gemacht werden.
So deakvieren Sie den Alarm:
1. Enernen Sie das Gerät von der Montageplae.
2. Enernen oder durchbrechen Sie das Eke und nehmen Sie den S heraus.
3. Schieben Sie den S in das Loch.
Die Auswirkungen von Kohlenmonoxid
Kohlenmonoxid (CO) ist ein farbloses, geruchloses und nicht-reizendes Gas, das als
chemische ersckende Substanz klassifiziert wird, dessen Toxische Wirkung sich in
Form eines Ersckens durch direktes Einatmen zeigt. Auswirkungen auf die
Gesundheit eines gesunden Erwachsenen:

100-200 PPM Leichte Kopfschmerzen, Schwäche, mögliche Belastung für den Fötus
200-300 PPM Starke Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit, Beeinträchgung der Beweglichkeit

Übelkeit, Muskelschwäche, Schwindel, Schwäche
400-500 PPM Krämpfe und Bewusstlosigkeit

Congratulaons with the purchase of this ELRO smoke & carbon monoxide detector!
Read these instrucons carefully and store them in a safe place for future usage.
WARNINGS
* The installaon of a carbon monoxide detector should not be used as a substute
for proper installaon, use and maintenance of fuel burning appliances including
appropriate venlaon and exhaustsystems.
* Risk of electric shock or malfuncon if the apparatus is tampered with.
* The following substances can affect the sensor and may cause false alarms:
methane, propane, isobutene, isopropanol, ethylene, benzene, toluene, ethyl
acetate, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxides, alcohol based products, paints,
thinner, solvents, adhesives, hair sprays, aer shaves, perfumes and some cleaning
agents.
* To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely aached to the wall/ceiling in
accordance with the installaon instrucons.
* Apparatus should be installed by a competent person.
* Baeries should not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine or fire.

Acvate your smoke & carbon monoxide detector
The detector contains a sealed baery with a lifeme of 10 years and will be acvated
automacally when the alarm is aached to the mounng plate for the first me.
Aer acvaon, all three LED’s will light up and a beep will sound. The green LED will
flash every 2 seconds for 40 seconds to indicate that the device is in the preparaon
state. Aer this, the green LED will flash every 40 seconds to indicate that the device is
funconing properly.
Where to install your detector
Potenal sources of carbon monoxide are: wood-burning stoves, gas boilers and fires,
gas hobs, oil and coal burning appliances, portable gas heaters, barbecues etc.
In which room should you install a detector?
Ideally, a smoke & carbon monoxide detector should be installed:
* In every bedroom (especially in children's rooms).
* In hallways and escape rooms.
* In every room containing a fuel-burning appliance.
* In every room where not much me is spent and the alarm sound from other
apparatuses may not be heard.
* If the number of available apparatuses is limited, then choose for the room where:
- A flueless or open-flued appliance is located.
- The most me is spent.
* In case of bedsit (single room serving as both living room and bedroom): Locate the
apparatus as far as possible from the cooking appliances and near the sleeping
area.
* If the appliance is installed in a room not normally frequented (for example a boiler
room), then the apparatus should be posioned so that the alarm may be heard
more easily.
Where in the room should a detector be installed?
* In rooms with a fuel-burning appliance:
- Between 1-3 m distance away from the potenal source of carbon monoxide.
- If there is a paron in the room: At the same side of the paron as the
potenal source of carbon monoxide.
* In rooms without a fuel-burning appliance (such as sleeping rooms/hall ways:
- Relavely close to the breathing zones of occupants.
* If mounted on the wall:
- Close to the ceiling, but at least 150 mm away from ceiling.
- At a height greater than the height of any door or window.
* If mounted on the ceiling:
- At least 50 cm away from any wall or objects.
Where should a detector not be installed?
* In an enclosed space or on a locaon where the air flow may be obstructed (in a
closet / behind a curtain or furniture).
* Directly above a sink.
* Next to a door, window or air condioning.
* Next to an extractor fan.
* In areas where the temperature gets < 0°C or > 40°C.
* In areas where dirt or dust may block the sensor.
* In a damp/humid locaon (such as a bathroom).
* In the immediate vicinity of cooking appliances.
* On a locaon where the LED indicator may not be visible.
Mounng the device
* Remove the mounng plate from the device.
* Place the mounng plate on the desired installaon locaon and
mark where the holes should be drilled.
* Drill two holes with a diameter of 5 millimetres.
* Push the plasc plugs into the holes.
* Insert the screws into the mounng plate, and ghten them firmly
into the plugs.
* Place the device on the mounng bracket and secure it by
turning it clockwise.
* When it’s properly ghtened, the device generates a beep.
* Test the correct operaon of your device by pressing the test
buon. If no sound is generated, the device is not funconing
properly and should not be used.
What to do if carbon monoxide is detected?
If the device gives a carbon monoxide alarm, please take the following acons:
* Keep calm and open all doors and windows. Stop using fuel-burning appliances and
turn them off.
* If the alarm connues, evacuate the building. Leave all doors and windows open,
and do not enter again before the alarm has stopped.
* Get medical help for anyone who is suffering the effects of carbon monoxide
poisoning.
* Contact the appropriate maintenance agency. Do not use fuel-burning appliances
unl they are checked by a competent person.
Alarm silence mode
When the device has detected smoke and turns into the alarm mode, you can mute
the alarm for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum 15 minutes by pressing the
test buon. Aer that, the device automacally resets and returns into the normal
operaon mode. If it sll detects smoke the device will turn into the alarm mode
again. WARNING: Before using the alarm silence facility, always idenfy the cause of
the alarm and make sure that the circumstances are safe.
Maintenance
* Test
- Test the device monthly by pressing the test buon. If the device funcons
properly, the red LED-light will flash 4 mes and it will beep simultaneously. If
you do not hear a beep or see a light aer pressing the test buon, the device is
not funconing correctly and should be replaced as soon as possible!
* Baery
- When the baery is running low, the device will indicate this with a repeve
beep and flash for approximately 30 days. WARNING: This device is equipped
with a non-replaceable baery. When this warning occurs, replace the device as
soon as possible! The acousc low baery warning signal can be muted for 9
hours by pressing the test buon. The device is sll funconing and able to
detect smoke and carbon monoxide when it's in this mode.
* Cleaning
- Once a month: Remove the device from the mounng plate and dust it with a
so brush or cloth. Aer cleaning, always test device by pressing the test buon.
* Fault warning
- When this device is not funconing properly, it will turn into the fault warning
mode. Try cleaning the device (see paragraph cleaning) or replace it!
Deacvate the device
WARNING: Deacvaon of the alarm is permanent and cannot be undone.
To deacvate the alarm:
1. Remove the alarm from the mounng plate.
2. Remove or break through the label and take out the pin.
3. Push the pin into the hole.
The effects of carbon monoxide
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, non-irritang gas which is classified
as a chemical asphyxiant, whose toxic acon is a direct result of the hypoxia produced
by a given exposure. Health effects of carbon monoxide on healthy adults:

100-200 PPM Slight headache, weakness, potenal burden on foetus
200-300 PPM Severe headache, nausea, impairment in limb movements
300-400 PPM Severe headache, irritability, confusion, impairment in visual acuity,
nausea, muscular weakness, dizziness, weakness
400-500 PPM Convulsions and unconsciousness
600-700 PPM Coma, collapse, death
