the lid is opened during the heating
cycle.
20. Be certain kettle lid is securely in
place during operation and when
pouring hot water. Do not use force
when placing lid on kettle.

22. Do not clean with cleansers, steel

23. CAUTION: Position the lid so the
steam vents are on the spout side
so that steam is directed away from
the handle.
24. CAUTION: Ensure that the appliance
is switched off before removing it

This appliance is intended for household use only.
w WARNING
Electrical Shock
Hazard: This appliance is provided with
a grounded (3-prong) plug to reduce
the risk of electric shock. The plug fits
only one way into a grounded outlet.
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the
plug by modifying the plug in any way
or by using an adapter. If the plug does
not fit into the outlet, have an electrician
replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this
appliance was selected to reduce
the hazards of becoming tangled in
or tripping over a longer cord. If a
longer cord is necessary, an approved
extension cord may be used. The
electrical rating of the extension cord
must be equal to or greater than the
rating of the appliance. The extension
cord must be a grounding-type, 3-wire
cord. Care must be taken to arrange
the extension cord so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or
accidentally tripped over.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload,
do not use another high-wattage
appliance on the same circuit with this
appliance.
How to Use
w CAUTION
Burn Hazard. Do not overfill kettle. Boiling water may spit out of
the spout.
Before first use: Pull up on Lid to remove and fill Kettle with water to MAX Fill
Line. Replace Lid. Place Kettle on Base; press Power Switch down to turn Kettle
on. Kettle will bring water to a boil, then shut off automatically. Discard water and
repeat 2 times, rinsing out Kettle each time. Kettle is now ready for use.
1. Remove Kettle from Power Base
before filling.
2. Remove Lid and fill Kettle with
desired amount of water, a minimum
of 8 oz (237 mL). Do not fill above
MAX Fill Line (20 oz/591 mL).
3. Place Lid on Kettle with vent holes
toward spout. Place Kettle on Power
Base. Plug into outlet.
4. Press down on Power Switch to ON
(l), and Red LED Light will
illuminate while heating. Kettle will
automatically shut off when water
has boiled and Power Switch will
move up to OFF ( ).
Unplug.
NOTE: Only use Kettle to heat water. If Kettle is used to heat other liquids, such as
coffee or tea, the warranty will be voided.
If Kettle Floor Discolors:
It is normal for stainless steel floor to discolor. This does not affect the
performance of Kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners since this
may damage the stainless steel surface.
If Kettle Boils Dry:
The heating element is protected by two automatic safety devices. If your Kettle is
accidentally switched on without being filled with water, or is allowed to boil dry,
Kettle will automatically switch off. You should:
• Lift Power Switch up to turn OFF ( ), unplug, and wait about 20 minutes for the
element to cool down.
• Refill Kettle; then use as normal and check that Kettle functions correctly.
Kettle Shutoff:
This Kettle is designed to automatically shut off 30 to 90 seconds after water boils.
If Kettle Does Not Work:
Make these simple checks before visiting hamiltonbeach.com:
• Have you pressed Power Switch down to ON (l) position?
• If Kettle heats but does not boil, it might need descaling.
• Has Kettle been accidentally switched on without being filled with water or
allowed to boil dry? Lift Power Switch to turn OFF ( ), wait 20 minutes, and try
again.
• Is cord firmly plugged into the outlet and Kettle firmly seated in Base?
Care and Cleaning
w WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse kettle, power base, or
plug in water or other liquid.
To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit from inside bottom of Kettle:
1. Unplug.
2. Pour 1 tablespoon (15 mL) white
vinegar and 1/4 cup (59 mL) water
into Kettle and let stand 10 minutes.
OR
Place 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) cream
of tartar (available in the spice aisle
of grocery store) into Kettle. Then fill
Kettle 1/2 full with water. Plug into
outlet, press Power Switch down,
and bring to boil. Lift Power Switch
up to turn OFF ( ). Unplug and let
cool. Rinse several times with clean
tap water.
3. Rub Kettle floor with a paper towel.
Remove paper towel and vinegar.
4. Wash with soap and water, and then
rinse and dry.
Tip: To avoid scale/lime deposit
buildup, empty Kettle after each use.
5. For easy storage, cord can be
wrapped under Power Base.
Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada.
This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other
warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase in Canada and one

éteinte.
18. AVERTISSEMENT : Si la bouilloire
est trop pleine, l’eau bouillante peut
éclabousser.

cet appareil a été sélectionnée afin de

L’utilisation d’une rallonge approuvée
est permise si le cordon est trop court.
Les caractéristiques électriques de
la rallonge doivent être équivalentes

type à mise à la terre, à 3 fils. Prendre

pour installer la rallonge de manière à

Utilisation
w ATTENTION
Risque de brûlures. Ne pas trop remplit la bouilloire. L’eau brûlante
peut jaillir hors du bec.
Avant la première utilisation : Tirer sur le couvercle pour le retirer et remplir la
bouilloire avec de l’eau jusqu’à la ligne de remplissage MAX ou sous la ligne.
Remettre le couvercle. Placer la bouilloire sur la base et abaisser l’interrupteur
d’alimentation pour la mettre en marche. La bouilloire portera l’eau à ébullition,
puis s’éteindra automatiquement. Jeter l’eau et répéter l’opération deux fois, en
rinçant la bouilloire chaque fois. La bouilloire est maintenant prête à être utilisée.
1. Retirer la bouilloire de la base
d’alimentation avant de la remplir.
2. Retirer le couvercle et remplir la
bouilloire avec la quantité d’eau
souhaitée, mais un minimum de
237 mL (8 oz). Ne pas la remplir
au-delà de la ligne de remplissage
MAX (591 mL/20 oz).
3. Mettre le couvercle sur la bouilloire
en plaçant les évents à vapeur vers
le bec verseur. Déposer la bouilloire
sur la base d’alimentation. Brancher
à la prise de courant.
4. Appuyer sur l’interrupteur
d’alimentation pour le mettre
en position ON (I/marche). Le
voyant à DEL rouge s’illuminera
durant le chauffage. La bouilloire
s’éteint automatiquement une fois
l’eau à ébullition et l’interrupteur
d’alimentation passe en position OFF
( /arrêt). Débrancher.
REMARQUE : N’utiliser la bouilloire que pour faire bouillir de l’eau. La garantie est
annulée si la bouilloire est utilisée pour faire bouillir d’autres sortes de liquides
comme le café ou le thé.
Si le fond de la bouilloire se décolore :
Il est normal que le fond en acier inoxydable se décolore. Ceci ne nuit pas
au fonctionnement de la bouilloire. Ne pas utiliser de tampons à récurer ou
nettoyants, car ils pourraient endommager la surface en acier inoxydable.
Si la bouilloire a chauffé à vide :
L’élément chauffant est protégé par deux dispositifs de sécurité automatiques. Si
votre bouilloire est allumée accidentellement et qu’elle ne contient pas d’eau, ou si
l’eau est complètement évaporée, la bouilloire s’éteindra automatiquement. Quoi
faire :
• Soulever l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour le mettre en position OFF ( /arrêt),
débrancher la bouilloire et attendre environ 20 minutes pour laisser l’élément
chauffant refroidir.
• Remplir à nouveau la bouilloire puis utiliser normalement tout en vérifiant son
bon fonctionnement.
Arrêt de la bouilloire :
Cette bouilloire est conçue pour s’éteindre automatiquement dans les 30 à 90
secondes suivant l’ébullition de l’eau.
Si la bouilloire ne fonctionne pas :
Effectuer ces vérifications simples avant de visiter le site hamiltonbeach.com :
• Avez-vous appuyé sur l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour le mettre en position
ON (I/marche)?
• Si la bouilloire chauffe, mais sans faire bouillir l’eau, elle a peut-être besoin
d’être détartrée.
• Est-ce que la bouilloire a été accidentellement mise sous tension sans eau ou
a-t-elle fonctionné à vide ? Soulever l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour le mettre
en position OFF ( /arrêt), attendre 20 minutes et réessayer.
• Le cordon est-il fermement branché dans la prise murale et est-ce que la
bouilloire est bien installée sur son base ?
Entretien et nettoyage
w AVERTISSEMENT
Risque de choc électrique. Ne pas immerger la bouilloire, base
d’alimentation ou la fiche dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide.
Pour éliminer la décoloration ou les dépôts tartriques ou calcaires au fond de la
bouilloire :
1. Débrancher.
2. Verser 15 mL (1 cuillère à café) de
vinaigre blanc et 59 mL (1/4 tasse)
d’eau dans la bouilloire et laisser
reposer 10 minutes.
OU
2. Versez 2,5 mL (1/2 c. à thé) de
crème de tartre (offert dans l’allée
des épices de l’épicerie) dans la
bouilloire. Remplir la bouilloire
à moitié avec de l’eau. Brancher
l’appareil dans la prise, abaisser
l’interrupteur d’alimentation et
porter l’eau à ébullition. Soulever
l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour
