How To Use Your

Kidde Extinguisher

Follow instructions

shown on the front label

of your re extinguisher.

After the re is out, clean up dry chemical

powder immediately to avoid corrosion.

CAUTION: Under certain re and heat

conditions, the dry chemical powder in

ABC type extinguishers will cause dam-

age or prove extremely difcult to

remove from oven surfaces, including

self-cleaning models. Do not use self-

cleaning feature to remove ABC Powder.

BC type extinguishers are recommended

for cooking areas.

CAUTION: The agent contained in this

extinguisher is not toxic, but may cause

skin irritation. Avoid inhaling the dry

chemical agent. In case of contact, ush

affected area with clean, cool water. If

irritation persists, contact a physician

immediately. Chemical name of agent is

printed on extinguisher label.

tact your local re department or the U.S.

Coast Guard. Additional information on

extinguishers can be found in the National

Fire Protection Association (NFPA) pam-

phlet No. 10, “Portable Fire Extinguishers.”

Mounting Your Extinguisher

Please follow the instructions and dia-

grams below for mounting the bracket

that was supplied with your re extin-

guisher. The hanger or bracket provided

with the extinguisher must be used. Use

of an extisting hanger or bracket may not

properly support or retain the extinguisher.

U.S. Coast Guard approval is valid only

with the marine mounting bracket speci-

ed on the instruction label of your

extinguisher.

IF YOUR EXTINGUISHER WAS SHIPPED

WITH

A PLASTIC BRACKET AND METAL

STRAP then mount your extinguisher as

follows:

1.Fasten bracket to suitable

surfaceusing a screwintheupperbracket

mounting hole.

2.Mount the metal strap provided with your

extinguisherinthelowerbracketmount-

ingholeusinganotherscrew.

3.Place extinguisher into bracket and latch

thestraptoholdtheextinguishersecurely

inplace.

IFYOUREXTINGUISHERWASSHIPPEDWITH

A HOSE AND HOSE STRAP, then slide the

hosestrapoverthebottomofthecylinder,

andsecurethenozzleendofthehose to

thehosestrapbeforeplacingyourextin-

guisherinservice.
