Physical Installation

TheXAP-1240accesspointisdesignedforsimpleandefficientinstallation.

Fourkeyholesallowforeasywall-mounting,orformountingtoapole,usethe

includedcableties(zipties)tosecuretheAPtothepole.Looselysecuretwo

cableties,onethrougheachmountingflangeslot,thentightenthecableties.

Single Access Point Placement:Becausethesignalgeneratedbythe

XAP-1240isdirectional,theunitshouldbelocatedattheperimeter

ofthedesiredcoveragearea,withthelargeflatsurfaceaimedtoward

thecenter.

Multiple Access Point Placement:Youmayneedtoexperimentwith

APplacementtooptimizetheroamingexperience.PlaceAPstoensure

adequatecoverage,butnotsofarapartthatthereisnosignaloverlap.

AdjacentAPsshouldoverlapenoughthattheclientdevicehasagood

connectiontotheAPtowhichitiscurrentlyattached,butalsoseesthe

next-nearestAP.Ideally,roamingclientsshouldseesignalstrengthof

twooverlappingAPsintherangeof-60to-70dBmatthemidway

pointbetweentwoAPs.TolearnmoreaboutAPplacement,visit
