2.OUTPUTIMPEDANCESELECTOR
Matchestheamplifier’soutputtotheload(speaker)
impedance.
Your1987X-PWshouldbecompletelypowereddown
beforetheOutputImpedanceSelectoristurned.
AsisthecasewithanyMarshallall-valveamplifieritis
imperativethat:a)theamplifierisconnectedtoaload
whilstinoperationandb)theimpedanceselectedon
theamplifiermatchesthetotalimpedanceofthe
extensionspeakercabinet(s)beingused.Thetwo
internalspeakersare16Ohmseach.Thesearewiredin
parallelgivinganoverallimpedanceof8Ohms;
thereforetheoutputselectorshouldbesetto8Ohms.
Ifanadditional8Ohmextensionspeakercabinetisused
inconjunctionwiththeinternalspeakerstheoutput
selectorshouldbesetto4Ohms.
Note:Noadditionalextensionspeakercabinetwith
impedancelowerthan8Ohmsshouldbeusedin
conjunctionwiththeinternalspeakers.
