MSP 209 – Quick Start

This guide provides quick start instructions for an experienced installer

to set up and operate the MSP 209.

Step 2

Attach a UTP cable from the TP network device to the

RJ45 port on the Converter.

LED Description

MSP 209 supports one channel media conversion

between 1000Base-T and 1000Base-LXthrough SC

type interface. MSP 209-GX00/ MSP 209-GX01 ,

this empowers the installers theflexibility in fiber-optic

networking. To centralize the fiber-optic network

installation, the MSP209-GX00/ MSP 209-GX01

can be used as standalone units or as a slide-in

module to thePLANET intelligent Media

Converter ChassisAs MSP 209-GX00/

MSP 209-GX01 fully complies withIEEE802.3ab

1000Base-T andIEEE802.3z 1000Base-LX,

using the Gigabit media conversionis quite quick and

easy bysimply plug and play.

Installing the Converter

Step 1

Attach fiber cable from the Converter to the fiber

network. The fiber connections must

be matched: transmit socket to receive socket.

Step 3

Connect the power cord to the Converter and check

that the Power LED lights up. The TPAct and FX

ActLEDs

will light when all the cable connections satisfactory.

LAN(Ethernet) port

Use twist CAT5 cable to connect to LAN port, user can

control VSP 526 based on default IP address:

192.168.0.100. User can also change the IP address by

RS 232 or USB.

Twist CAT5 should be one end in T568A, and another

end in T568B standard.
