SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
BATTERY WARNING: KEEP OUT OF THE

This product is not a toy.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do
not handle or play with the product.
This product contains no user serviceable parts.
Only a qualified electrician should attempt repairs.
If any part of the appliance is malfunctioning or if it has
been dropped or damaged, cease using the product
immediately to avoid potential injury.
Do not insert fingers into any openings or inside
the product.
Do not place, store or use the product near direct
sunlight or direct heat sources or in a damp/high
humidity environment.
This product is a high precision device; handle it with care.
This product is intended for domestic use only.
BATTERY SAFETY
This product is supplied with 1 x CR2032 battery. Only
batteries of the same or equivalent type as those
recommended should be used with this product.
Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
Exhausted batteries should be removed from the
product to avoid leakage.
WARNING
THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS
A BUTTON/COIN BATTERY
Swallowing can cause severe or fatal injuries
within 2 hours.
Keep batteries out of reach of children
(whether new or used).
If you think batteries may have been swallowed
or placed inside any part of the body, seek
immediate medical attention.
CAUTION: If the battery compartment does
not close securely, stop using the product
and keep it away from children.
WARNING: Vigilance must be maintained
with flat or spare button or coin batteries in
the home and the products that contain them.
There are no obvious specific symptoms when a button or
coin battery is stuck in a child’s oesophagus (food pipe).
However, the child might exhibit the following symptoms:
• Coughing, gagging or drooling
• Appear to have a stomach upset or virus
• Vomiting
• Pointing to their throat or stomach
• Pain in their abdomen, chest or throat
• Tiredness and lethargy
• Be quieter or more clingy than usual
• Loss or reduction of appetite
• Refusal or inability to eat solid foods
These sorts of symptoms may fluctuate.
A specific symptom of button or coin battery ingestion is
vomiting fresh (bright red) blood. Seek immediate medical
attention if this occurs.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the exterior of the scale with a soft, damp cloth and
allow it to dry thoroughly.
Never immerse the scale in water or any other liquid.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning detergents or scourers
to clean the scale, as this could cause damage.
Before first use
Loosen the battery safety screw and open the battery
compartment on the underside of the scale.
Insert batteries following the correct polarity, close the
battery compartment and tighten the battery safety screw.
Changing the unit
STEP 1: Position the scale on a firm flat surface.
STEP 2: Select kg, st or lbs weight mode by pressing ‘UNIT
on the base of the scale.
Setting the scale to zero
STEP 1: Press the centre of the platform and make sure
no weight is on the scale. ‘0.0/ZERO will be displayed.
STEP 2: The scale will switch o and is now ready for use.
NOTE: The zero setup process must be
repeated if the scale is moved. At all other
times step straight on the scale.
Using the scale
STEP 1: Step on to the platform and stand still.
STEP 2: After 2–3 seconds the weight reading will be displayed.
STEP 3: Step o the platform; the weight reading will be
displayed for several seconds before the scale turns o.
NOTE
: It is recommended that readings are
taken at the same time of day, preferably
early evening and before a meal for the
most consistent results.
Troubleshooting
If the scale is not working properly:
Check the battery is fitted correctly.
Check that the correct unit is selected.
Make sure the scale is on a hard, flat surface and not
touching a wall.
Repeat the zero-setting process.
Warning indicators
Lo – Replace battery.
EE / O-Ld – Weight exceeds maximum capacity.
Err – Unstable weight. Stand still.
