serial-portconnector.Thechargepumpandfoursmallexternalcapacitorsallowoperationfromasingle3-Vto

5.5-Vsupply.Thisdeviceoperatesatdata-signalingratesof1Mbit/sinnormaloperatingmodeandamaximum

of30-V/μsdriveroutputslewrate.Thisdevicealsofeaturesalogic-leveloutput(READY)thatassertswhenthe

chargepumpisregulatingandthedeviceisreadytobegintransmitting.

TheMAX3227Eachievesa1-μAsupplycurrentusingtheauto-powerdownplusfeature.Thisdevice

automaticallyentersalow-powerpowerdownmodewhentheRS-232cableisdisconnectedorthedriversofthe

connectedperipheralsareinactiveformorethan30s.Theyturnonagainwhentheysenseavalidtransitionat

anydriverorreceiverinput.Auto-powerdownsavespowerwithoutchangestotheexistingBIOSoroperating

system.
