Battery Charger

Please read the entire instruction manual before using and save it
for future use. We apologise for any text or photo errors and any
changes of technical data. If you have any questions concerning
technical problems please contact our Customer Service Department.
1. Warning!
• Only charge NiMH/Ni-CD batteries of size R03, R6, R14, R20 or
6F22 (9V)
• NEVER try to recharge regular dry-cell batteries, alkaline
batteries or non-rechargeable batteries in the battery charger.
• Never use a higher charging current than that which is
recommended for or that is marked on the battery.
• Always charge rechargeable batteries before using them for the
rst time and top them up again every second month.
• Observe the battery polarity markings on the charger.
• Do not expose the charger to water or sources of excess heat.
• Do not use the charger if the connection cable or power adaptor
is damaged.
• The battery charger is only intended for indoor use or for use in
a vehicle.
• The batteries will become warm when charged, be careful when
removing them.
• Only use the enclosed adaptor to power the charger.
• Unplug the adaptor from the power point when the charger is not
in use.
• Charge two or four batteries simultaneously (does not apply to
9 V batteries).
2. Functions
• Battery charger for the quick-charging of Ni-MH and Ni-CD
batteries.
• Charges e.g. R20 1200mAh in two hours and 9000mAh in 14
hours.
• Compatible battery sizes: R03, R6, R14, R20 and 6F22 (9 V)
• Microprocessor controlled charging.
• Negative delta-V cut off function (-dV)
• Automatically switches to maintenance charge.
• Temperature control.

4. Use
1. Connect the adaptor to a power point and the DC plug to the
charger.
2. according to the Insert2or4batteriesofthesametype
markings on the charger (if charging just two batteries they
should be placed next to each other on the left (CH1) or right
(CH2) of the battery compartment).
3. The red Charge light comes on during charging, the Charge light
ashes if the charger contains batteries of different types.
4. The green Ready light comes on when the quick-charge is
completed and the batteries are being maintenance charged.
Batterystatus:
When charging commences the charger makes sure that all the
batteries are capable of being recharged and that none of them is
inserted incorrectly. Ifanyofthebatteriescannotbechargedor
ismisalignedtheredlampwillashand the charging is interrup-
ted until the fault has been rectied (the defective battery has been
removed or realigned).
5. Charging 9 V batteries
9 V batteries (6F22) can be charged one or two at a time. When
one/two 9 V batteries are connected to the charger the red 9 V lamp
will come on. Whencharging9Vbatteriesthechargingprocess
mustbestoppedmanuallyafter9-17hours. Do not overcharge
the batteries. The red lamp will stay on as long as the batteries are
in the charger (the green Ready lamp never comes on).
6. When using the charger in a vehicle with a
12 V adaptor
Plug the cigarette lighter plug into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter
outlet and the plug the cable’s DC plug into the charger.
Note! Before connecting the charger, rst make sure that the ci-
garette lighter outlet has a positive centre pin and that its output
voltage is 12 V.
Bear in mind that the cigarette lighter outlet in certain makes of car
is only live when the ignition is turned on whereas in other makes of
car it can be live all the time.
