Generalinformation:
Thisthermostatisdesignedtoprovidethehighestlevelofaccuratetemperature
controlforresidentiallinevoltageelectricheatingin120or208/240volt.Almost
allelectricheatersinstalledasoriginalequipmentinaresidentialapplicationwill
be208or240volt.Itisveryrarethatahome,apartmentorcondominiumwould
bewiredwithall120voltheaters.Checkyourvoltagetomakesureyouhavethe
rightthermostatforyourheatervoltage.A2poleordoublewidecircuitbreakerat
thepanelwouldindicatethatyoushouldusethe240voltmodel.Asinglepoleor
singlewidebreakerwouldindicatea120voltcircuit.Therearesomeexceptions
tothisrulesocheckingwithavoltmeteristheonlywaytoknowforsure.Besafe
andsmart,electricitycancausesevereinjuryordeath.
Thethermostatwillprovideyearsofcomfortcontrolforyourfamilyforsmallfan
drivenelectricheaters,baseboards,radiantceiling,wallpanelheaters,cove
heaters,oranylinevoltageresistanceheatingsystemsthatdonothavean
electricmotorover1/3hp.Thethermostatwillbewarmtothetouchontop.This
theelectronicsoperating,italsoprovidesaircurrentsacrossthefaceofthe
thermostatthathelpitsenseroomtemperaturebetter.
Operation:
Thisprecisionelectronicthermostatwillsensetheroomairatthebottomofthethermostatbyathermistor.Thisverysensitivesensorwillsend
informationtothemicroprocessor.Asthetemperaturedrops,theinformationitsendswillindicateifheatisneeded.Toreduceanyundesirablefast
on/offcycles,theprocessorhasabuiltin1to3minutedelay.Thiswillsaveenergyandprovidethebestcontrolofaspace.Thisthermostatdosenot
requirebatteriesandwillhaveadefaultsettingof68°Fwhenpoweredup.Itiseasilychangedbytappingthearrowkeysonthefrontofthe
thermostat.Uparrowincreasestemperatureanddownarrowreducestemperature.Backlightingisprovidedonsomemodelsandcanbeturnedoff
oronbyasmallswitchundertheleftcornerofthethermostat.Thiswillallowyoutoseethethermostatinlowlightoratnight.
Installation:
Thislinevoltagedeviceshouldbeinstalledandservicedbyaqualifiedelectrician.Thethermostathasbeendesignedtomounttoastandard2”x4”
electricaloutletbox.Levelingofthethermostatisnotrequired.Mountingscrewsareprovided.Mountthethermostataboutfivefeetabovethefloor
inanopenareainthelivingroom.Agoodruleofthumbistoplacethethermostatabovethewallswitchforthatroom.Thisworkswellformost
bedroomandmakesitveryconvenienttoturntheheatlowerwhenleavingtheroom.Avoidmountingthethermostatwheretheremaybeplumbing
pipesinthewallorplacingalamporTVtooclosetothethermostat.Theheatfromtheseitemsaffectsthethermostatsperformance.
