MAINTENANCE
The maintenance port is an easily accessed hole
strategically located for easy maintenance of the reel.
Using a slot-head screwdriver the rubber-sealed plug can
be removed from the reel. Here one drop of lightweight
oil or grease can be applied directly to the drivetrain to
prevent corrosion and protect the smooth retrieve of the
reel. Be sure to not over lubricate the reel as excessive
lubrication can cause the reel to become sluggish. Also,
the use of aftermarket spray lubricants contain cleaners
and degreasers that can actually remove the grease and
oil that protect the reel and cause premature corrosion
or damage to the reels. Before using an aftermarket
lubricant, we recommend that you contact our
Customer Service Department at 1-877-577-0600 to be
sure it will not damage your reel.
MANTENIMIENTO
El puerto de mantenimiento es un agujero de fácil
acceso ubicado estratégicamente para un
mantenimiento fácil del carretel. Usando un desarmador
plano se puede retirar del carretel el tapón sellado con
goma. Aquí se puede aplicar una gota de aceite liviano o
grasa directamente al impulsor para prevenir la
corrosión y proteger la recuperación suave del carretel.
Asegúrese de no lubricar demasiado el carretel p1-ya que
un exceso de lubricación puede hacer que el carretel se
torne lento. También, el uso de lubricantes en chisguete
de terceros que contienen limpiadores y
desengrasadores puede en realidad quitar la grasa y el
aceite que protegen al carretel y causar una corrosión o
un daño prematuros a los carreteles. Antes de usar un
lubricante de terceros, le recomendamos que se ponga

ENTRETIEN
L’orifice d’entretien est un trou aisément accessible situé
stratégiquement pour faciliter l’entretien du moulinet.
Le bouchon d’étanchéité en caoutchouc peut être enlevé
du moulinet à l’aide d’un tournevis normal. Une goutte
d’huile légère ou de graisse peut être directement
appliquée sur la transmission pour prévenir la corrosion
et assurer un retour régulier du moulinet. Veiller à ne
pas trop lubrifier le moulinet. Une lubrification excessive
peut ramollir l’action du moulinet. De même, les
lubrifiants en vaporisateur disponibles sur le marché
contiennent des nettoyeurs et des dégraisseurs qui
peuvent en fait enlever la graisse et l’huile protégeant le
moulinet, provoquant une corrosion prématurée ou
endommageant le moulinet. Avant d’utiliser un lubrifiant
disponible sur le marché, il est recommandé de se
mettre en contact avec le Département du Service à la
Clientèle au no. 1-877-577-0600 pour s’assurer qu’il ne
risque pas d’endommager le moulinet.

model number, part number and description. Mail this
to your nearest Shimano Warranty Center. If available,
the part will be delivered on a C.O.D. basis.

The Shimano Service Plus network is ready to repair and
service all your Shimano fishing reels. We highly
recommend that you refer any servicing and regular
maintenance to the Warranty Service center in your
area where it will be cleaned, lubricated, adjusted, and
inspected for signs of wear or damage. When returning
a reel for service; Pack the item in a sturdy package with
adequate padding for protection. Enclose a note
describing the problem, if any, or service needed, include
the model number, and include a self-addressed
stamped envelope (for estimate of repair cost of non-
warranty items). Mail it insured to your local Warranty
Service Center.

Warranty Service Center nearest you. Retailers and
wholesale outlets are not required or authorized to
perform warranty repairs or exchanges on behalf of
Shimano, nor are they authorized to modify this warranty
in any way. In the case of warranty repair requests
(within 1 year of purchase date). A dated sales
receipt must accompany the warranty claim. Please
follow the shipping instructions outlined in the REPAIR
section of this document.
