Installation

•ConnecttheantennatothereceiverordistributionsystemusingShure

antennacables(orany50ohm,low-losscoaxialcable,suchasRG-8U).

•Theantennaonlyoperateswithreceiversordistributionsystemsthat

provide10–15VDCbias.

•Lowerthegainsettingforshortcableruns,orincreasegainforlonger

runs.Notethatthequalityofthecable,notjustthelength,contributes

tosignalloss.Alighter-grade50footcablemayrequiremoregainthan

a100foot,low-losscable.Contactthecablemanufacturerforcableloss

specifications.

•Directtheantennatowardtheintendedcoveragearea.

•Donotusethisantennafortransmitting(suchaswithPSMtransmitters)

CableMaintenance

Tomaintaintopperformanceforantennacables:

•Avoidsharpbendsorkinksinthecables.

•Donotdeformcableswithmakeshiftclamps,suchasbendinganailover

thecable.

•Donotuseinpermanentoutdoorinstallations.

•Donotexposetoextrememoisture.

SelectingAntennaCables

Use50ohmlow-losscoaxialcable,suchasRG-8U.Shureofferspre-termi-

natedantennacablesrangingfrom6to100feet.

NOTE:WhenorderingcablesfromShure,selectthelow-loss"Z"models

(availableforlongercables)whenusingfrequencybandsabove1000MHz.
