In addition, you will need writing implements (ideally ball-point pens,
pencils and an eraser), one or more sheets of paper, a pair of scissors,
and a watch (ideally, a stopwatch) to keep time. As an alternative,
you can use the digital timer with the atmospheric soundtrack.
Just select the game in the Kosmos Helper App and click on the
hourglass.
Game setup
On the decoder disk, fold the black strip toward the rear and
slide the two display feet onto the locations provided for
them. For now, place the posters and the “strange items”
at the edge of the table. Sort the cards into three piles
in accordance with what is written on their backs:
> Riddle card
> Answer cards
> Help cards
Check to be sure that the answer cards are
arranged in ascending numerical order. Sort the
help cards according to their symbols. Then place
them at the edge of the table. Place cards with the
same symbol one on top of another, with the 1st CLUE card on top of the
2nd CLUE card, and the latter on top of the SOLUTION card.

MESSAGE FROM BLOXX Introductory Text
The gate remains inactive. What it is actually supposed to do is set itself
in motion and take you away from this place.
As you gaze at the gate in bewilderment, a little note suddenly materializes
in
its center and hovers in the air as if by magic.
You reach for it and nd yourself holding a message from
Bloxx Alpha 5. Where is that supposed to be?
If only you had a telescope, you might be able to
locate this cryptic world.
In any case, the Bloxxianers want to tell you something.

WORLD 7 Introductory Text
You are nally home. And outrageously happy to be there!
However, nothing seems to be the way it was before!
Something must have happened while you were away.
There is now an “up” and a “down” – the whole world is twisted.
The worst thing is that everything is moving backwards.
Even time is moving backwards, and darned quickly too!
You can’t imagine what will happen when it runs out.
It slowly dawns on you that this must all have something to do with the gate.
In the other worlds, there were suddenly inexplicable phenomena too.
In your travels through the worlds, you must have knocked the universe out of
balance!
No wonder that the gate was kept so well hidden.
You look at one another in shock. You have to set things right again!
Just then, you notice a small note lying next to you on the ground. It must have
come with you out of the gate. You read it line by line …

WORLD 6 Introductory Text
You land on a wonderfully green world. Gigantic trees are holding imposing
wooden structures, and everything seems to be in harmony with nature.
Apart from a few squirrels, there’s nobody in sight.
You’d really like to know who lives in these tree houses.
You are particularly fascinated by the strange stone statues that can be
seen on many of the mighty branches. Something about them seems
familiar to you. What’s that about?
You decide that it would be best to get going right away instead of asking
so many questions — for what you don’t see holds no interest for you.

WORLD 4 Introductory Text
A fantastic world lies at your feet. Several islands are oating in the air as if
weightless. Everything seems to be oating here. But there appears to be nobody
around.
As you close one eye, you see a key oating before you.
Some distance away, a few colored balloons are oating through the air.
You notice that the key has a very odd key bit.
If the key bit ts and the right bird can be seen through the keyhole, you may be
able to
solve the secret of the oating islands from left to right.

Gate Repair Introductory Text
The outer rings of the gate are slowing down. They manage a few more rotations,
when suddenly there’s a loud bang. Then nothing. Silence.
The gate is no longer working. As you study it more closely, you discover
that three energy rods have come loose.
Panic spreads among you. There’s nothing in this tunnel! If you ever want to get away,
you will denitely have to x the gate …
As you try to calm down, you take a closer look at the problem.
The switchboard is mounted in the corner of the box. The POWER unit
has to be connected to the energy crystal.
To do that, you need the three energy rods.
All three have to be correctly connected across the corner.
To restart the gate, the rod values will
have to be entered from large to small.

WORLD 2 Introductory Text
A bright ash of lightning blinds you and brings tears to your eyes.
As your vision clears, a feeling of well-being spreads through you. Everything looks
amazingly calm and peaceful. Giant mushrooms are looming above your heads.
In the distance, you can recognize a few planets in the early-evening sky. You see a
little house in the foreground, from which emanates the most delicious aroma of
mushroom soup. A lanky creature steps out of the house and extends a friendly
greeting.
“Hello, strangers! Never seen you before, you must have come through the gate.
Nobody has used it in a long time. I assumed everybody had forgotten how to
travel that way. But it’s good that you’re here! We are having problems with our
energy eld. Something went off the rails somewhere in the universe, and a few
planets seem to
be starting to change their geological form.
The planets Orionriff, Kratermond, Dragonium and Phoenixzenith
seem to be particularly affected. If we cannot re-stabilize the
energy eld, we won’t
survive for long. Fortunately, we have an old record with informa-
tion about it. Word for word and line by line, it has to be pushed
through
under the gate from the rear …“

WORLD 1 Introductory Text
With a sharp jolt, you are ejected from the gate. In a ash, your clothes become soaked with water
and drag you down into the depths. On reex, you start swimming and battle your way back to the
surface. Luckily, it doesn’t take long for one of you to discover a wooden raft. You pull yourselves up
onto its planks with some effort.
Where on earth have you landed? The gate must have catapulted you into another world consisting
of
nothing but water. Clearly, you are not in Kansas anymore.
In the distance, you see a strange water creature moving farther and farther away from you.
You will need to catch it if you want to learn more about this world. But suddenly the water
starts moving beneath you, and out of nowhere a whirlpool forms.
Your raft is in the center, and the water is owing swiftly toward your right. All of these oddly
glowing jellysh are standing up vertically in the water. It appears that they have not been taken by
surprise by this sudden whirlpool. It takes all your effort to keep your raft on course and follow the
ow of water. You are pleased to note that you are slowly but steadily getting closer to the water
creature, which seemed very small at the beginning but looks pretty big at the end — such a dra-
matic experience …
