Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Basalthermometer ist ein Spezial-Digitalthermometer,
bestimmt zur Messung der Basaltemperatur bei Frauen. Die
mit Hilfe des Messfühlers ermittelte Maximaltemperatur wird
bis zur nächsten Messung gespeichert. Die Eintragung der
Messdaten in die Ovy App ermöglicht die Vorhersage der
fruchtbaren und nicht fruchtbaren Tage im Zyklus, sowie
der Periode.

Um alle Vorzüge des Thermometers optimal nutzen
zu können, solltest Du die Gebrauchsanweisung vor
Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durchlesen, für die weitere
Benutzung aufbewahren und auch anderen Benutzern
zugänglich machen.
• Das Thermometer ist ausschließlich zur Messung der
menschlichen Körper tempe ratur bestimmt.
• Das Thermometer ist nur für den in der Gebrauchs an-
wei sung angegebenen Messort am menschlichen Körper
konzipiert.

Kindern darf das Gerät nicht unbeaufsichtigt überlassen
werden.
• Dieses Thermometer ist kein Verhütungsmittel.
• Kontrolliere das Thermometer vor jeder erneuten
Benutzung auf Anzeichen von Beschädigung oder
Abnutzung. Beschädigte oder abgenutzte Thermometer
dürfen nicht mehr verwendet werden.
• Die Mindestmessdauer bis zum Signalton ist ausnahmslos
einzuhalten. Bespreche die ermittelten Werte mit Deinem
Arzt.
• Das Thermometer beinhaltet empfindliche elektronische
Bauteile. Schütze es deshalb vor Stößen, Biegungen,
hohen Temperaturen oder direkter Sonnenbe strah lung.
• Dieses Thermometer ist mit einer flexiblen Mess-Spitze
ausgestattet und bringt dadurch mehr Komfort und
Sicherheit bei der Messung, insbesondere bei bewußt-
seinseingeschränkten Personen. Die Spitze darf nicht
weiter als 90° abgebogen werden!
• Der Betrieb im Bereich starker elektromagnetischer
Felder, wie z.B. neben einem Mobiltelefon, kann zu
Fehlfunktionen führen.
•
Das Thermometer führt beim Einschalten einen Selbsttest
durch. Eine Überprüfung der Messgenauigkeit ist nicht
erforderlich.
•
Störfaktoren wie Alkoholkonsum aber auch auffällige
Körpersignale wie z.B. Fieber, Schlafstörung, Stimmung
oder außerordentliche sportliche Aktivität können deine
Basaltemperatur verzerren und für die Auswertung

unbrauchbar machen.
• Bei auffälligen Temperaturergebnissen wende dich bitte
unverzüglich an deinen Arzt.

Das Gerät entspricht der EU-Richtlinie für Medizinprodukte
93/42/EEC, dem Medizinproduktegesetz, der europäischen
Norm EN 12470-3: Medizinische Thermometer – Teil 3:
Elektrische (extrapolierende und nicht extrapolierende)
Komptaktthermometer mit Maximumvorrichtung sowie der
europäischen Norm EN 60601-1-2 (Übereinstimmung mit
CISPR 11, IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-3, IEC 61000-4-8)
und unterliegt besonderen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
hinsichtlich der elektromagnetischen Verträglichkeit.
Bitte beachte dabei, dass tragbare und mobile
HF-Kommunikationseinrichtungen dieses Gerät beeinflus-
sen können.
Hinweise zu Elektromagnetischer Ver-
träglichkeit
• Das Gerät ist für den Betrieb in allen Umgebungen
geeignet, die in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung aufgeführt
sind, einschließlich der häuslichen Umgebung.
• Das Gerät kann in der Gegenwart von elektromagneti-
schen Störgrößen unter Umständen nur in eingeschränk-
tem Maße nutzbar sein. Infolgedessen können z.B.
Fehlermeldungen oder ein Ausfall des Displays/Gerätes
auftreten.
• Die Verwendung dieses Gerätes unmittelbar neben
anderen Geräten oder mit anderen Geräten in gestapelter
Form sollte vermieden werden, da dies eine fehlerhafte
Betriebsweise zur Folge haben könnte. Wenn eine
Verwendung in der vorgeschriebenen Art dennoch not-
wendig ist, sollten dieses Gerät und die anderen Geräte
beobachtet werden, um sich davon zu überzeugen, dass
sie ordnungsgemäß arbeiten.
• Die Verwendung von anderem Zubehör, als jenem,
welches der Hersteller dieses Gerätes festgelegt oder
bereitgestellt hat, kann erhöhte elektromagnetische
Störaussendungen oder eine geminderte elektromagne-
tische Störfestigkeit des Gerätes zur Folge haben und zu
einer fehlerhaften Betriebsweise führen.
• Eine Nichtbeachtung kann zu einer Minderung der
Leistungsmerkmale des Gerätes führen.

Messen der Aufwachtemperatur
Führe die Messung zur gleichen Uhrzeit unmittelbar nach
dem Aufwachen durch, noch bevor du aufstehst. Du
solltest vor dem Messen mindestens 4 Stunden schla-
fen. Bei weniger als 4 Stunden Schlaf vor der Messung,
trage deine Schlafdauer in die Ovy App ein oder aktiviere
«Störung der Nachtruhe». Vor der Messung solltest du
nichts essen und körperliche Anstrengung vermeiden.
Du kannst oral, rektal oder vaginal messen, solltest
jedoch den gewählten Messort im Zyklus nicht wech-
seln. Empfohlen wird die Messung unter der Zunge bei
geschlossenen Lippen.
Das Thermometer sollte während des Zyklus nicht
gewechselt werden. Wenn du im Laufe des Zyklus das
Thermometer wechselst, musst du das als Störung ebenso
vermerken wie eine Änderung des Messortes. Für diesen
Zyklus kann eine sichere Auswertung dann nicht mehr
garantiert werden.
Zum Einschalten, drücke die Ein-/
Aus-Taste. Ein kurzer Signalton bestä-
tigt das Einschalten. Zunächst führt
das Thermometer für ca. 2 sec. einen
Selbsttest durch. Hierbei sind alle
Segmente der Anzeige sichtbar.
Danach erscheint der Referenzwert
von 36,50 °C. Anschließend blinkt das
Mess-Symbol „°C“ und im Display wird
„Lo“ angezeigt. Das Thermometer ist
messbereit. Führe die Messfühlerspitze
in eine der beiden Wärmetaschen unter
der Zunge links oder rechts von der
Zungenwurzel ein. Der Messsensor
muss einen guten Gewebekontakt
haben.
Schließe den Mund und atme ruhig durch die Nase,
so dass das Messergebnis nicht durch die Atemluft
beeinträchtigt wird. Während der Messung wird die
aktuelle Temperatur laufend angezeigt und das „°C“-
Zeichen blinkt. Die Messung wird beendet, wenn eine
Temperaturstabilität erreicht ist. Ein akustisches Signal
ertönt, das „°C“-Zeichen blinkt nicht mehr und der gemes-
sene Temperaturwert wird angezeigt.
Wir empfehlen eine Messzeit von 3 Minuten. Sollte die
Temperaturstabilität früher erreicht werden, ertönt das
akustische Signal. Bitte warte auf jeden Fall das Ende der
Messung ab, bevor du das Thermometer vom Messort
entfernst. Der ermittelte Messwert bleibt bis zur nächsten
Messung gespeichert. Ca. 10 Minuten nach Ende der
Messung erfolgt die selbständige Abschaltung. Du kannst
das Thermometer auch bereits vorher durch Drücken der
Ein-/Aus-Taste ausschalten.
Speicher
Der letzte Messwert wird automatisch gespeichert. Um die-
sen Wert anzuzeigen, drücke die Ein-/Aus-Taste für mehr als
zwei Sekunden. Danach wird der letzte Messwert angezeigt.
Nach dem Loslassen des Knopfes, wird der Referenzwert von
36,50°C und „Lo“ im Display angezeigt. Das Thermometer ist
Messbereit und der alte gespeicherte Messwert wird automa-
tisch durch den neuen Messwert ersetzt.
Batteriewechsel
1. Wechsel die Batterie, wenn im Display die
Batterieanzeige erscheint:
2. Ziehe dazu die Batteriefach-Abdeckung nach hinten ab.
3. Ziehe die Batteriehalterung vorsichtig ca. 1 cm aus dem
Gehäuse heraus.
4. Verwende einen nicht metallischen Gegenstand, um die
Batterie aus ihrer Halterung zu schieben.
5. Setze eine neue Batterie (Typ LR41 1,5 V) mit dem +
Zeichen nach oben ein.
6. Schiebe die Batteriehalterung in das Gehäuse zurück
und setze die Batteriefach-Abdeckung wieder auf.
Achte darauf, dass die Dichtung nicht beschädigt oder
verschoben wird.
Die verbrauchten, vollkommen entladenen Batterien musst
Du über speziell gekennzeichnete Sammelbehälter,
Sondermüllannahmestellen oder über den Elektrohändler
entsorgen. Du bist gesetzlich dazu verpflichtet, die
Batterien zu entsorgen.
Diese Zeichen findest Du auf schadstoffhaltigen
Batterien:
Pb=Batterie enthält Blei, Cd=Batterie enthält
Cadmium, Hg=Batterie enthält Quecksilber. Für
diese Batterie gilt: Pb, Hg.
Hinweise zum Umgang mit Batterien
• Wenn Flüssigkeit aus einer Batteriezelle mit Haut oder
Augen in Kontakt kommt, die betroffene Stelle mit
Wasser auswaschen und ärztliche Hilfe aufsuchen.
• Verschluckungsgefahr! Kleinkinder könnten Batterien
oder Batteriefach verschlucken und daran ersticken.
Daher Batterien für Kleinkinder unerreichbar aufbe-
wahren!
• Auf Polaritätskennzeichen Plus (+) und Minus (-) achten.
• Wenn eine Batterie ausgelaufen ist, Schutzhandschuhe
anziehen und das Batteriefach mit einem trockenen Tuch
reinigen.
• Schütze Batterien vor übermäßiger Wärme.
• Explosionsgefahr! Keine Batterien ins Feuer werfen.
• Batterien dürfen nicht geladen oder kurzgeschlossen
werden.
• Bei längerer Nichtbenutzung des Geräts die Batterien
aus dem Batteriefach nehmen.
• Verwende nur denselben oder einen gleichwertigen
Batterietyp.
• Immer alle Batterien gleichzeitig auswechseln.
• Keine Akkus verwenden!
• Keine Batterien zerlegen, öffnen oder zerkleinern.
Reinigung des Geräts
Reinige das Basalthermometer vor und nach jeder
Anwendung mit einem weichen Tuch und wasserver-
dünntem Isopropyl-Alkohol oder kaltem Seifenwasser.
Das Gerät kann zur Reinigung in Wasser oder
Desinfektionslösung eingetaucht werden. Maximale
Eintauchzeit 30 Minuten! Nicht durch Kochen, Gas oder
Dampfautoklaven sterilisieren.
Aufbewahrung und Entsorgung
Wenn du das Thermometer nicht benutzt, bewahre es bitte
in der originalen Schutzhülle auf.
Die Genauigkeit dieses Thermometers wurde sorgfältig
geprüft und wurde im Hinblick auf eine lange nutzbare
Lebensdauer entwickelt. Bei Verwendung des Gerätes in
der Heilkunde sind
Messtechnische Kontrollen mit geeigneten Mitteln
durchzuführen. Genaue Angaben zur Überprüfung der
Genauigkeit können unter der Service-Adresse angefragt
werden.
Im Interesse des Umweltschutzes darf das Gerät am Ende
seiner Lebensdauer nicht mit dem Hausmüll entsorgt wer-
den. Die Entsorgung kann über entsprechende
Sammelstellen in Ihrem Land erfolgen. Entsorgen
Sie das Gerät gemäß der Elektro- und Elektronik
Altgeräte EG-Richtlinie – WEEE (Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment). Bei Rückfragen wenden
dich an die für die Entsorgung zuständige kommunale
Behörde.

Wie funktioniert Ovy?
Die Ovy App berechnet automatisch deinen Zyklus,
ohne Zettel oder Stift. Dazu gehören deine Periode, dein
Eisprung, sowie deine fruchtbare und nicht fruchtbare
Phase. Miss dazu deine morgendliche Aufwachtemperatur
und trage diesen Wert inklusive zwei Nachkommastellen
in die Ovy App ein. Idealerweise beginnst du mit der
Dokumentation am ersten Tag der Regelblutung, also
an deinem ersten Zyklustag. Du kannst aber auch an
einem beliebigen Tag im Zyklus beginnen. Um die
Vorhersage noch genauer zu machen, füge täglich weitere
Körpersignale hinzu. Wichtig ist, dass du dokumentierst,
wann mögliche externe Temperatureinflüsse wie Fieber,
Alkoholkonsum oder Schlafmangel aufgetreten sind.
Du kannst deine Basaltemperatur, Körpersignale und
Störfaktoren auch nachtragen, die Temperaturmessung soll-
te allerdings am entsprechenden Tag stattgefunden haben.
Die Ovy App basiert auf einem selbstlernen-
den Algorithmus. Das bedeutet, je öfter du deine
Basaltemperatur einträgst, desto genauer kann Ovy deine
fruchtbaren Tage und deine nächste Periode vorhersagen.

Die nachstehenden Garantiebedingungen lassen die

• L‘uso in presenza di forti campi elettromagnetici, ad es.
accanto a un telefono cellulare può comportare malfun-
zionamenti.
• All‘accensione il termometro esegue un autotest. La verifi-
ca della precisione di misurazione non è necessaria.
• Fattori di disturbo come il consumo di alcol, ma anche
segnali anomali del corpo, come febbre, disturbo del
sonno, umore o attività sportiva eccessiva possono influire
sulla tua temperatura basale e renderla inutilizzabile per
la valutazione.

Avvertenze sulla compatibilità elettro-
magnetica
• L‘apparecchio è idoneo per l‘utilizzo in qualsiasi ambiente

produttore dell‘apparecchio o in dotazione con l‘apparec-

Esegui la misurazione sempre alla stessa ora subito dopo
il risveglio, ancora prima di alzarti. Prima della misurazione
dovresti dormire almeno 4 ore. Se le ore di sonno prima
della misurazione sono meno di 4, riporta la durata del tuo

Prima della misurazione non dovresti mangiare nulla ed
evitare sforzi fisici.
Puoi effettuare una misurazione orale, rettale o vaginale,
tuttavia non devi modificare la zona dimisurazione scelta
durante il ciclo. Ti consigliamo di eseguire la misurazione
sotto la lingua con le labbra chiuse.
Non sostituire il termometro durante il ciclo. Se sostituisci il
termometro durante il ciclo, devi segnalarlo come anoma-
lia, al pari di un cambiamento della zona di misurazione. Di
conseguenza per il ciclo in oggetto non sarà più possibile
garantire una valutazione sicura.
Per accendere l‘apparecchio, premi
il pulsante On/Off. Un breve segnale
acustico conferma l’avvenuta accensi-
one. In primo luogo il termometro ese-
gue un auto-test per circa 2 secondi;
nel corso di tale operazione sono visu-
alizzati tutti segmenti del display.
Appare il valore di riferimento di 36,50
°C. Infine lampeggia il simbolo di
misurazione “°C” e il display visualizza
“Lo”. Il termometro è pronto per la
misurazione. Introduci la punta del sen-
sore di misurazione in una delle tasche
di calore sotto la lingua a sinistra o
destra prima della radice della lingua. Il
sensore di misurazione deve avere un
buon contatto con i tessuti.
Chiudi la bocca e respira lentamente con il naso, in modo
che il risultato della misurazione non venga pregiudicato
dall‘aria respirata. Durante la misurazione viene visualizzata
la temperatura corrente e il simbolo “°C” lampeggia. La
misurazione termina quanto si raggiunge una temperatura
stabile. Entra un funzione un segnale acustico, il simbolo
“°C”cessa di lampeggiare e viene visualizzata la tempera-
tura misurata.
Si consiglia un tempo di misurazione di 3 minuti. Se la
stabilità termica viene raggiunta prima, viene emesso il
segnale acustico. Attendi in ogni caso il termine della
misurazione prima di rimuovere il termometro dalla zona di
misurazione. Il valore rilevato rimane memorizzato fino alla
misurazione successiva. Ca. 10 minuti dopo la fine della
misurazione l‘apparecchio si spegne automaticamente.
Puoi anche spegnere prima il termometro premendo il
pulsante On/Off.
Memoria
L‘ultimo valore di misurazione viene salvato automatica-
mente. Per visualizzare questo valore, premere il pulsante
On/Off per più di due secondi. Poi viene visualizzato l‘ul-
timo valore misurato. Quando si rilascia il pulsante, viene
visualizzato il valore di riferimento di 36,50 °C e „Lo“. Il ter-
mometro è pronto per la misurazione e il vecchio valore di
misurazione memorizzato viene sostituito automaticamente
con il nuovo valore di misurazione.
Sostituzione delle batterie
1. Sostituisci la batteria quando sul display compare l’indi-
catore della batteria:
2. A tale scopo, estrai la copertura del vano bat-
terie tirandola indietro.
3. Estrai il supporto batteria ca. 1 cm fuori dall’apparec-
chio.
4. Usa un oggetto non metallico per fare scorrere la batte-
ria fuori dal suo supporto.
5. Inserisci una nuova batteria (tipo LR41 da 1,5V) con il
segno + rivolto verso l’alto.
6. Fai scorrere il supporto batteria nel vano e riapplica la
copertura del vano batterie.
Faiattenzione a non danneggiare o spostare la guar-
nizione.
Smaltisci le batterie esauste e completamente scariche
negli appositi punti di raccolta, nei punti di raccolta per
rifiuti tossici o presso i negozi di elettronica. Lo smaltimen-
to delle batterie è un obbligo di legge.
Sulle batterie contenenti sostanze tossiche si trovano que-
sti simboli:
Pb = batteria contenente piombo, Cd = batteria
contenente cadmio, Hg = batteria contenente
mercurio.
Per questa batteria sono validi i simboli: Pb, Hg.
Avvertenze sull‘uso delle batterie
• Se il liquido della batteria viene a contatto con la pelle e
con gli occhi, sciacquare le parti interessate con acqua e
consultare il medico.
• Pericolo d‘ingestione! I bambini possono ingerire le
batterie o il vano batterie e soffocare. Tenere quindi le
batterie lontano dalla portata dei bambini!
• Prestare attenzione alla polarità positiva (+) e negativa (-).
• In caso di fuoriuscita di liquido dalla batteria, indossare
guanti protettivi e pulire il vano batterie con un panno
asciutto.
• Proteggere le batterie dal caldo eccessivo.
• Rischio di esplosione! Non gettare le batterie nel
fuoco.
• Le batterie non devono essere ricaricate o mandate in
cortocircuito.
• Qualora l‘apparecchio non dovesse essere utilizzato per
un periodo prolungato, rimuovere
le batterie dal vano batterie.
• Utilizzare solo tipologie di batterie uguali o equivalenti.
• Sostituire sempre tutte le batterie contemporaneamente.
• Non utilizzare batterie ricaricabili!
• Non smontare, aprire o frantumare le batterie.
Pulizia dell‘apparecchio
Pulisci il termometro basale prima e dopo ogni utilizzo con
un panno morbido e alcool isopropilico diluito con acqua
oppure acqua saponata fredda. Per la pulizia è possibile
immergere l‘apparecchio in acqua o in una soluzione disin-
fettante. Al massimo per 30 minuti! Non sterilizzare con
bollitura, gas o autoclavi a vapore.
Conservazione e smaltimento
Quando non utilizzi il termometro, conservalo nell‘involucro
protettivo originale.
La precisione di questo termometro è stata accuratamente
testata ed è stata sviluppata per una lunga durata di vita
utile. Se l‘apparecchio viene utilizzato a scopo professio-
nale, è necessario effettuare controlli tecnici con gli stru-
menti adeguati. Richiedere informazioni dettagliate sulla
verifica della precisione all‘indirizzo indicato del servizio
di assistenza.
Per motivi ecologici, l‘apparecchio non deve essere smalti-
to tra i normali rifiuti quando viene buttato via. Lo smalti-
mento va effettuato negli appositi centri di raccolta.
Smaltire l‘apparecchio secondo la direttiva europea
sui rifiuti di apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroni-
che (WEEE). Per eventuali chiarimenti, rivolgiti alle
autorità comunali competenti per lo smaltimento.

To make optimum use of all the benefits of the thermom-
eter, read the instructions for use carefully before initial
use, retain them for future use and make them available to
other users.
• The thermometer is intended for the measurement of
human body temperature only.
• The thermometer is only designed for the measuring area
on the human body stated in the instructions for use.
• Do not leave children unattended with the device.
• This thermometer is not a contraceptive.
• Check the thermometer for signs of damage or wear
before each use. If the thermometer is damaged or worn,
it must no longer be used.
• The minimum duration of measurement until the acoustic
signal must always be observed. Discuss the measured
values with your doctor.
• The thermometer contains delicate electronic compo-
nents. It should therefore be protected against impacts,
bending, high temperatures and direct sunlight.
• This thermometer features a flexible measuring tip and
therefore provides more comfort and safety during meas-
urement, in particular for people with areduced level of
consciousness. Do not bend the tip more than 90°.
• Operation in the vicinity of strong electromagnetic fields,
for example next to a mobile phone, may cause mal-
functions.
• The thermometer conducts a self-test when you switch it
on. There is no need to check the
measurement accuracy.
• Influencing factors such as alcohol consumption and
unusual body signals such as fever, disrupted sleep, your
mood or out-of-the-ordinary physical activity may also
distort your basal temperature and make it unusable for
evaluation.
• If you obtain unusual temperature results, please contact
your doctor straight away.
• This device meets the requirements of the EU Directive
93/42/EEC concerning medical devices, as well as those
of the Medizinproduktegesetz (German Medical Devices

Notes on electromagnetic compatibility
• The device is suitable for use in all environments listed
in these instructions for use, including domestic envi-

• The use of the device may be limited in the presence of

such as error messages or the failure of the display/

Measuring your basal temperature
Take your temperature at the same time, as soon as you
wake up and before you get out of bed. You should have
slept for at least 4 hours before the measurement. If you
have slept for less than 4hours before the measurement,
enter the amount of sleep you have had in the Ovy app or
activate „Disrupted sleep“. Do not eat anything before the
measurement and avoid physical exertion.
You can make oral, rectal or vaginal measurements, but
you should always take the measurements in the same
place in a cycle. We recommend taking the measurement
under your tongue with your mouth closed.
The thermometer should not be changed during the cycle.
If you change the thermometer during the cycle, you must
also note it as a disruption, just like a change to the place
of measurement. For this cycle, a reliable evaluation is
then no longer guaranteed.
Press the On/Off button to switch on
the device. A short acoustic signal
will announce that the thermometer
is switched on. The thermometer
will carry out a self-test for about 2
seconds. During the selftest all seg-
ments of the display will appear.
Then the reference reading 36,50
°C appears. Then the measurement
symbol “°C” flashes and “Lo” is shown
on the display. The thermometer is
now ready for use. Insert the tip of
the sensor into one of the two heat
pockets under your tongue, to the left
or right of the root of your tongue. The
measurement sensor must have good
contact with tissue.
Close your mouth and breath calmly through your nose
so that the air from your breathing does not influence the
measurement. During the measurement, the current tem-
perature is displayed continuously, and the “°C” symbol
flashes on and off. The measurement is completed when a
stable temperature has been reached. When this stage has
been reached, an acoustic signal is heard, the “°C” symbol
stops flashing and the temperature measured is displayed.
We recommend a measuring time of 3 minutes. If the
temperature stability is reached earlier, the acoustic signal
sounds. Please always wait until the end of the measure-
ment before you remove the thermometer from the place
of measurement. The measured value is saved until the
next measurement. The device switches off automatically
approx. 10 minutes after the end of the measurement. You
can also switch off the thermometer before this time by
pressing the On/Off button.
Memory
The last measured value is automatically saved. To dis-
play this value, press the On/Off button for more than 2
seconds. The last measured value is then shown. Once
the button is released, the reference value of 36,50°C
and “Lo” are shown on the display. The thermometer is
ready to take a measurement and the previously stored
measured value is automatically replaced by the new
measured value.
Replacing the battery
1. Replace the battery when the battery status indicator
appears on the display:
2. Slide back the battery compartment cover
to remove it.
3. Pull the battery holder carefully out of the housing by
approx. 1cm.
4. Use a non-metallic object to push the battery out of
its holder.
5. Insert a new battery (type LR41 1.5V) with the + symbol
facing upwards.
6. Push the battery holder back into the housing and reat-
tach the battery compartment cover. Ensure that you do
not damage or displace the seal.
Empty, completely flat batteries must be disposed of
through specially designated collection boxes, recycling
points or electronics retailers. You are legally required to
dispose of the batteries.
The codes below are printed on batteries containing harm-
ful substances:
Pb = Battery contains lead, Cd = Battery contains
cadmium, Hg = Battery contains mercury.

Notes on handling batteries
• If your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid,
rinse the affected areas with water and seek medical
assistance.
• Choking hazard! Small children may swallow and
choke on batteries or the battery compartment. Store
batteries out of the reach of small children.
• Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) polarity signs.
• If a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and
clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
• Protect batteries from excessive heat.
• Risk of explosion! Do not throw batteries into a fire.
• Do not charge or short-circuit batteries.
• If the device is not to be used for a relatively long period,
take the batteries out of the battery compartment.
• Use identical or equivalent battery types only.
• Always replace all batteries at the same time.
• Do not use rechargeable batteries.
• Do not disassemble, open or crush the batteries.
Cleaning the device
Clean the basal thermometer before and after each use
with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol diluted with water
or cold soapy water. The device can be immersed in
water or a disinfectant solution to clean it. The maximum
immersion time is 30 minutes. Do not sterilise the device
by boiling, with gas or with an autoclave.
Storage and disposal
Please store the thermometer in the original protective
cover when it is not in use.
The accuracy of this thermometer has been carefully
checked and it has been developed with along service life
in mind. If the device is used for commercial medical pur-
poses, it must be regularly tested for accuracy by appro-
priate means. Precise instructions for checking accuracy
may be requested from the service address.
For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in
the household waste at the end of its service life. Dispose
of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling
point in your country. Dispose of the device in
accordance with EC Directive – WEEE (Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you have
any questions, please contact the local authorities
responsible for waste disposal.

keep an eye on it at any time on your smartphone. Ovy is
designed for women who want to have children. The app is
available to download for free in the Apple App Store and
Google Play. The Ovy app is a certified Class 1 medical

How does Ovy work?
The Ovy app works out your cycle automatically, without
pen and paper. This includes your period, ovulation and
your fertile and non-fertile windows. To do this, take your
temperature when you wake up in the morning and enter
this value (to two decimal places) in the Ovy app. To make
the prediction even more accurate, add other body signals
each day. You should ideally start recording this on the

cycle. However, you can also start recording on any day in
your cycle. It is important that you record when potential
external temperature influences such as a fever, consump-
tion of alcohol or a lack ofsleep have occurred.
You can also enter your basal temperature, body signals
and influencing factors at a later time, but the temperature
measurement should have been taken on the relevant day.
The Ovy app is based on a self-learning algorithm. This
means that the more often you enter your basal tempera-
ture, the more accurately Ovy will be able to predict your
fertile days and your next period.

Warranty / service
Medel International, via Villapizzone 26 / 20156, Milan
(hereinafter referred to as “Medel”) provides a warranty for this
product, subject to the requirements below and to the extent
described as follows.
The warranty conditions below shall not aect the seller’s
statutory warranty obligations which ensue from the sales
agreement with the buyer.
The warranty shall apply without prejudice to any manda-
tory statutory provisions on liability.
Medel guarantees the perfect functionality and completeness
of this product.
The worldwide warranty period is 5 years, commencing from
the purchase of the new, unused product from the seller.
The warranty only applies to products purchased by the buyer
as a consumer and used exclusively for personal purposes in
the context of domestic use.
German law shall apply.
During the warranty period, should this product prove to be
incomplete or defective in functionality in accordance with
the following provisions, Medel shall carry out a repair or a
replacement delivery free of charge, in accordance with these
warranty conditions.
If the buyer wishes to make a warranty claim, they should
approach their local retailer in the first instance: see the
attached “International Service” list of service addresses.
The buyer will then receive further information about the
processing of the warranty claim, e.g. where they can send
the product and what documentation is required.
A warranty claim shall only be considered if the buyer can
provide Medel, or an authorised Medel partner, with
- a copy of the invoice/purchase receipt, and
- the original product.
The following are explicitly excluded from this warranty:
- deterioration due to normal use or consumption of the
product;
- accessories supplied with this product which are worn out
or used up through proper use (e.g. batteries, rechargeable
batteries, cus, seals, electrodes, light sources, attachments
and nebuliser accessories);
- products that are used, cleaned, stored or maintained
improperly and/or contrary to the provisions of the instruc-
tions for use, as well as products that have been opened,
repaired or modified by the buyer or by a service centre not
authorised by Medel;
- damage that arises during transport between manufacturer
and customer, or between service centre and customer;
- products purchased as seconds or as used goods;
- consequential damage arising from a fault in this product
(however, in this case, claims may exist arising from product
liability or other compulsory statutory liability provisions).
Repairs or an exchange in full do not extend the warranty
period under any circumstances.
