As shown in the figure, please eject the scalpel blade
with forceps.

Make sure that one side of the blade is above the lug
on the shank.

Clamp the blade and pull it forward carefully until the
blade is completely free of the shank.
Push the slider to the right to unlock both
the long and short bars.
Push the slider to the middle to unlock
the long bar and lock the short bar.
Push the slider to the left to lock
both the long and short bars.
